Take hire car abroad

Options
Hello,

I am planning a trip to the Alps and I am planning to fly to Turin, rent a car and drive to Les Arcs. I am about to book the rental car but now I am not sure I will be allowed to take the car from Italy to France or will I need a special insurance for doing this?

*confused*

You shouldn't have a problem crossing borders, but check with the T&C of the hire company first, and check if there's a daily mileage allowance. Are you returning the car to Turin?
  • Yes I am.I didn't think there would be a problem but I just wanted to check before I base my entire holiday booking on being allowed to do it :-)

    Thanks.

Don't worry about it, there's effectively no borders and hire firms don't usually mention any restrictions.

Check with the hire company there are some that don't allow cross border travel. I've had one before that didn't allow Spain/France border crossing but Spain/Portugal was fine.
