Good Morning chums and what a damp dreary looking day it is .I am off to the cemetery shortly with my sis-in-law with some flowers for my DB and DM.Then back to hers for lunch before wending my way home before dark.
Tomorrow morning I am on the M25 with DGS and his G/f as th are going off to Berlin for a few days, so I am hoping the traffic will have quietened down a bit, not my favourite road.
<<Hugs >> to all in need
Have a good Sunday Chums

Good morning everyone.
Later start for us today, partly because we were up at 1am dealing with the central heating pump which was still whirring away in the airing cupboard. In the end DH went into the garage and switched off the boiler, so we knew we'd be waking up to a cold house this morning! The house has actually warmed up quicker than we thought and the pump is behaving itself so far this morning so we'll just keep an eye on it for now, although this had happened a couple of times before.
Out for Sunday lunch today with DD and her boyfriend. They've offered to drive so we can have a drink, which is nice of them.
Have a good day everyone.0 -
Caterina, I'm sorry to hear about your DH's relative. Coxy, your poor nephew, it's not surprising he is having difficulty, it must be nearly impossible for him to concentrate. Finally, it's great news about the baby, Gers, I'm sure I wasn't the only one waiting with bated breath (I don't do prayers).
Talking of which, I had a young man come to my door to talk religion the other day, I told him that I had lost my faith because of all the terrible things that were being done in the name of religion. He basically said that they were all being done to make God look bad!! Hmm, I think he needs to look at his history books.
Anyway, I have decided to try to post one thing that makes me feel happy each day, maybe that will help to balance the sad things that are happening, not that I think people should stop posting the sad things, it's all part of life and we shouldn't be sheltered from it, but just a reminder that good things also happen.
My first is that I am really pleased with the colour choices we made for the living room, it's going to look very fresh when it's finished.0 -
Morning folks. Another late post from me as instead of putting on comp when I got up I made my coffee and got my nose straight in my book! I hadn't much left to read but was just too tired to finish it last night and was desperate to know how it ended! Big decision now which book to start next as I have such a boxfull waiting in the wings.
It's a miserable and drab day here too but at least it's dry and fairly mild. Oh roll on Spring!
Lunch today is roast beef which was left over and frozen after Christmas. I made a dish of cauli cheese earlier to warm in the oven when the baby roasties are underway. Then just carrots and swede to cook on the hob and peas in the mw.
No plans for this afternoon other than maybe starting on another book! This miserable weather makes me lazy.
Glad it's good news about the baby GERS. LAINEY restricting dm's visitors to immediate family sounds the best idea. HESTER and COXY my thoughts are with you both. CATERINA hope your DH's cousin pulls through ok. (((HUGS))) to all the other poorlies and anxious too. Have a nice day all if you can and take care whatever you are up to xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"0 -
Hello everyone, I am sort of hibernating this weekend, just doing things I like as I've felt tired and washed out for a while.
Sending love to those who are unwell or sad.I was jumping to conclusions and one of them jumped back0 -
I didn't get online yesterday so only just caught up with Hester's sad news. I am so sorry - sleep well, Jessica.
It's a type of rose.what about Egglantine for a middle name :rotfl: I once heard it on a period drama

The reason I didn't get here yesterday is that close on the heels of the DVD player, the hi-fi system has turned up it's toes. It was old, and had been a tad hinky for a while, so not unexpected. Anyways, Mr LW chose a replacement from @rgos, which we picked up yesterday morning.
I then decided, unilaterally
that we would bite the bullet and have my desk and the hi-fi/tv etc cupboard all out from the wall, give it all a good clean, sort out the spaghetti of wires behind there, and put it all back in a logical manner, to avoid future spaghetti.
This task took most of the day, as I kept needing to stop to rest (blimmin' lupus!); we've reassigned what plugs were where, changed over the extension leads (one is 6-gang, the other 8-gang) so that the $ky box, tv, DVD, VHS, hi-fi and PS2 are all in the 6-gang, which is a long narrow jobbie, behind the hi-fi/tv cupboard, and the WiiU, internet router, landline phone, and two lamps are plugged into the 8-gang, leaving 3 empty sockets, behind my desk. That one is shorter and wider, being 2 rows of 4 sockets, and it all fits better that way.
Hard work, but worth it - and I blagged Mr LW into buying me a pint afterwards.
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -

Lame Wolf, I have spaghetti like that behind my TV, I pull the TV out, look at the mess, sigh and push the TV back!
Judi, I hope your mood lifts soon.

Our cat has been bringing an average of one mouse every couple of days into the house. We live next to fields so can't really complain too much. Today, however, we have had 6 mice on the kitchen floor, so far! He's bitten the heads off and left them lying a little way from the body! I am not impressed....cat seems very proud of himself!0

He's just trying to show you how much he loves you.Chin up, Titus out.0
