My electric blanket too. So cheap for so much heat. It's kept me alive many winters!
My thoughts excactly. I can't sleep without my electric blanket on.
I spent the night in a Premeir Inn hotel 200 miles from where I live and did want to take my electric blanket with me but I didnt and wished I had as the heating in the hotel room took 30 mins to warm the room. I used the hairdryer that was in the room to warm the bed up.0 -

Good grief. This is why they have smoke detectors in hotel rooms.0 -
Two things
Bose QC15 headphones, thought i was mad spending £250 on headphones but beautiful sound, comfortable, great on flights, would buy another pair in a heartbeat.
EBAC dehumidifier, bought some 15 years ago, still works great, and great for drying washing, wouldn't be without one.0 -
It's not a 'thing' but my holiday to South Africa and Dubai. It was the best experience I had. I climbed a mountain, done shark cage diving, a safari and also the scared myself silly in a water park in Dubai!
As for a thing - my Acer laptop, I spent £600 on it (in the sales) as oppose to getting a £300/£400 laptop. This one has already lasted longer than my previous cheaper ones before it was repaired/replaced.
Also - YNAB, best purchase I've had, it's saved me loads of money!0 -
Have to say my best purchase is the Ebac dehumidifier, great for drying clothes and so do not need a tumble dryer (saves money). Also keeps the damp out of the by removing the excess moisture .

My Kindle has been a joy since the day it was given to me (a Christmas present...so not exactly a purchase!)...I have regular hospital visits and I can have a whole library to keep me entertained in the waiting rooms! It really came into its own when I was rushed into hospital - tucked up in a hospital bed, hooked up to a drip thing...forced to do nothing (there wasn't a TV in the ward - thankfully!)....I spent the time sleeping (a lot!) and reading!....Mum loves hers too as she is partially sighted and can no longer read the small print of most books, with her Kindle she can now continue reading Philippa Gregory books!
I bought a Morphy RIchards cordless Vacuum Cleaner...cost a few pounds more than some models...but it is so light! Being disabled I can't lift heavy cleaners. This is so easy to use and recharges really quickly too.
Oh and I LOVE my wheat bags...heat them in the microwave, tuck them into their little tartan bags and they are good to go!....I snuggle up to one in bed on cold winter nights....and they are sheer BLISS when I get lumbago! (Just tuck one behind me, nestled against the small of the back ooohhhhhhhhh!)....I can't use standard hot-water bottles.
The 5:2 book by Michael Moseley ....changed my outlook on weight/loss and healthy eating....8 stone lost so far!
Oh and special mention for my handbag! A real 'splurge' about 10 years ago from Hotters...I paid £35...WAY more than I would normally have considered...and that was in a 'sale'!...But it has been in constant use! It is perfect size - it carries my purse, my phone and my Kindle and never looks bulky...adjustable strap so I can wear it over the body for extra safety....and it is a gorgeous soft tan that goes with everything!0 -
Another iphone addict.
Kitchen appliance I'd rescue from a burning building is the Dualit toaster. Though why it would need rescue when it's darn near bombproof I'm not sure, but if it isn't quite a buy once in life article (we've replaced a couple of bits which got thugged by toddlers) it's the next best.
I adore it. Solid, easy to clean, easy to use, even easy to maintain. OK, eyewatering upfront cost new but if anyone's ditching theirs, grabbit & repair it & live a long & happy life with it!0 -
No regrets most sensible thing i have bought.. A scooter to commute to and from work.
New road opened between my house and my works, unofficially opened and nobody used it except me. No speed limit signsshhh.
6 minutes from front door to clocking in machine. Then the road opened officially with a 40mph limit. Within weeks it was faster to take the longer original route. Then they added bus lanes to that which caused chaos. No faster for the buses either because they were blocked at every set of lights.
Journey went from 6 minutes to an average of 20 - 40 minutes. Although it took me 3 hours one day from passing my house to dropping something into the office and then back home. Journey home on the scooter 10 minutes, no matter what the traffic was like.
I buy a lot of stuff but i can say that was a sensible purchase.
Where is the regret thread.. I also bought a classic MGCensorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
My BenQ G2410HDBL 24" monitor. Cheap, reliable, easy on the eyes, and elegant. Bargain!
Unlike the expensive Dell monitor that made my eyes bleed, and the LG monitor/TV that has never worked reliably even after a replacement motherboard. :-/0
