When to buy currency?

My first post alert!...
Just looking for advise on when I should by my foreign currency. I'm getting married in Mexico in May 2017 so will need Peso's and USD. Rates aren't great at the moment but I wanted to see what other people think. Clearly the 2 events between now and May that will affect markets are trump starting presidenc( could benefit the GBP/USD rate) and the triggering of article 50. So what do people think, buy now or wait?
TIA

The two events that you mention are both accepted as certain to take place, so their effects are already factored into the currency market rates. It is unexpected events and other factors which affect rate movements, so tossing a coin will give you as good an indication as anything about which way they will go. You can 'hedge' by exchanging some now and the rest later, or just obtain and use suitable cards for travel to avoid fees and the adverse rates when buying cash.Evolution, not revolution0
