Can I order BT deal now and install in Feb?

Options
BT has some good deals on currently (inc £150 Mastercard as cashback) but the offer closes in 6 days. I am in the process of trying to rent an apartment and if its all signed and agreed next week I was wondering if I could order my broadband next week but request an install date of 1st Feb or later?

Probably not but surely BT would be the people to ask?

If the install date was after 01/02/16 you'd be okay (maybe) but there's a lot that can go wrong unless you actually ask them first.
  • If memory serves me right, you can choose the date when you want the service to start during the ordering process online.

I ordered the other day and there is an option towards the end of the order process to change the start date you are initially offered.
I had the same concern as the OP, and didn't want the service to start before 1 February - however, as it turned out, BT couldn't offer activation until 15 February so I was left wishing I had placed my order sooner!

Was under the illusion that it was possible to choose an activation date for telephone and broadband line. However, having signed up to Sky after being instructed that you have a choice of activation date, the reality was the reverse with Sky connecting with PlusNet hours having signed upped. Was not amused by this and had to spend considerable time sorting out the mess.
A few thoughts, with gas and electricity you are allowed to change suppliers weeks before your contracts expire - about 50 days I believe - with broadband/phone, this is not the case. So, as way of personal example, Sky managed to get my contract cancelled with PlusNet three weeks earlier than when it expired, which mean't a £30 quid charge from PlusNet - I was unable to remedy the situation with line changeover and wanted to cancel with Sky under the 14 day cooling off period and fact that I had been mislead by sales team - had it not been for the fact Sky offered to pay the cancellation charge, I'd have left and cancelled the order, which mean't losing out on 'Sales' deals and CashBack deals - ultimately, Sky paid out and have 30 quid in credit and 77 back from TopCashBack, on the negative, at least two weeks line rental lost, alas, make life easier to change next year but not what I was hoping for.

PlusNet's website says that they charge a cease fee if you go to an LLU provider, as they now consider this type of migration to be a cease. Apparently this came into being last summer.
