Co-op bank account

I've had an account with them for 45 years and the only problem, ever, was when I first joined : I opened the account before marriage but requested that it be in my married name , as my salary payments wouldn't start until the month after marriage.


A few days after my salary was paid and some money withdrawn (well before internet banking days), I got a letter saying that I was overdrawn and this turned out to be because they put my salary into the account of someone with the same first and maiden name as mine. (It was sorted and the overdraft charge immediately refunded.)

Completely agree on the Co-op's phone staff being better than Halifax's. Easily as good as First Direct's, if not better.

It was the online account which was bothering me as I use this function a lot with natwest and find theirs great.
