one for sale , local gumtree , not being a iphone user or knowing the security , what do I need asked to be done so that I,m not locked out , seller seems legit as far as iemi? , just apple account locks info needed

gumtree pici shows " I cloud backup , not been done for 2 weeks , will start when connected "

If it's showing iCloud it means the seller hasn't cleared the iCloud account, unless that is cleared you cannot use the phone for much. Not even the FBI can reset an iCloud account... only the person who set it can clear it.

Only the original network, or an unscrupulous employee working for a network, can remove the network lock of an iPhone (unless it is a truly unlocked one, such as those bought directly from Apple).

Battery life is likely to be an issue on an old iPhone, getting the battery replaced is going to cost up to £50 or £60, so factor that into the cost of it.
