Dried fruit and nuts are also a good addition to a curry (if you like that sort of thing!)Always on the lookout for ways to save moneyMake £2017 in 2017; As of 05/01 = £8.100

I always add grated carrot to any curry / stews also frozen peas , sweetcorn , green beans, diced potatoes, to be honest i dont know why i bother adding the meat!! 0 -
I used to fill a curry with "other stuff", then it hit me: if I walked into an indian takeaway and asked for a chicken curry it'd be chicken and sauce. If I picked up a readymeal it'd be chicken and sauce. So now I just make chicken and sauce.
As for bulking out, or using up, other stuff, I'd make a separate sidedish from those, although carrots, onion and broccoli aren't a good starting point!
Probably grind all that lot up and do a couple of good sized pakoras on the side.
I think "the other stuff" I used to put into curries spoilt it for me a lot of the time as it all looked a bit ... "stuff in sauce" rather than screaming "LOOK - TASTY CURRY!"0 -
If its Tikka Masala my favourite things to add would be Onion, Tomatoes and Cream (Or crème freche - Cream is by far the best)0
