Cancelled TalkTalk account 4-5 years ago, they never stopped DD!

    Not advisable, let TT try and find the account it's associated with. If for some reason the OP didn't cancel it then they could find themselves in debt and all that that could entail.

    Why? Cancelling the DD won't prevent TT from accessing their account records, but it'll stop them taking any further payments.
    No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)
