    hi coupon-mad

I have just been reading through some older posts and you advised someone not to respond UNTIL a LBC - should I now respond to WH Solicitors and if so what should I say?

    Thank you for your help

I believe a letter of claim is a thinly disguised begging letter trying to frighten you into thinking it is a LBC. If it was a letter before claim it would say so.

To whom does the letter require any payment to be made? This will help distinguish the status of the letter, from which specific advice can be given.
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

Wright Hassall asking for £280 !!

Are they now, I do not think that they are allowed to do that. Why not copy the correspondence to the SRA

and ask them if WH are trying to obtain monies by misrepresentation.

Then it is not with the litigation arm of WH, it's with the debt collector side, as you will have found when you read the BMPA insights into WH and ZZPS.

However, responding robustly doesn't actually hurt as long as the driver isn't admitted. And if this later goes to a small claim it would look entirely reasonable if the keeper now supplies to WH, the Green Flag or garage proof of breakdown - and tells them to 'do one', so to speak.
