Avon for gift!

  • I like Avon - they are one of the few places I can get nice bras in my (according to all high street retailers) odd size, lol - and my 'lady' is very nice, which makes it even better :)

Does anyone know what their bargain bags are like? I've never bought one before as I have to be careful with toiletries and make-up, but there is a Christmas Gift one on the back of the current sale leaflet - £30+ worth of goods for £10 - which sounds good.

Are they really as good as the blurb makes out?

    :)

They can be quite good - it is quite hit and miss - however, if you don't want/like it, your avon rep can send it back for you. Perhaps mention to her when you order "is it ok to order this and see what I think" - you have every right to send it back for a 100% money back gurantee - but I often find it nicer if customers mention that they might not want to keep it if you know what i mean

  • Thanks :)

I did notice on the leaflet that the bag can't be returned if it's been opened. Think I'll give it a go though - if there's anything I can't use, there's a school fete at Christmas, and there's always eBay :)

  • Hello peps,

Earthmother you can always give the bits you dnt like in the pack to ppl at xmas?
Catwomen i have an 8month old daughter and i find she is a convo starter which breaks the ice with ppl you dnt know! and i have been a rep for only 2 brochures already made money and am now enjoying it, my area manager has been nice enough and it was hard work for the first few weeks trying to organise myself, the start up fee is very small £15 which is over 2 orders and you can also order yourself a starter kit for 2 £5 payments which has samples and a free bottle of perfume worth £15! What i did was tell all my friends and family plus work mates and you can even request some roads near you if they aren't already taken! Try local buisnesses if they aren't taken. Oh another good one is join a mother and baby group and take some books along with you! You can ask your manager about your area. Mine has a top proforming rep in it and i still make money. If you take it up and need advise just let me know or jamtart6 im sure we will both be happy to help!
  • I love Avon and have been a rep before (but have decided I am not a natural salesperson and too disorganised really) I would probably do it again when my kids are all at school maybe..

Anyway I wanted to say that I am sure you can send those bargain packs back if you don't like them (that was alwasy the way when I was a rep) I would say though (and sorry if you disagree) that the ones I have got in the past have not been that great and I have struggled to use them even as presents as have been funny colours, jewellery etc.. just my opinion though

As I said I love Avon and now I don't do it, I wish I had a rep, I have had a brochure dropped once and when the rep collected as I hadn't had time to look I said 'definitely leave it again and I will look' but she has never been back..

  • I've been a rep for over 23 years, started when my daughter was 6 months old, taking the avon round in the pram was brilliant.

yes there are some great £1 bargains to be had.

But as for the gift sets we sell, well half of the time there never in stock.

Well, the bag I ordered has arrived - and I'm very happy with it. The contents were -
A set of three glass tree baubles - which I just so happened to have wanted last year but didn't have the pennies for,
A bottle of lavender perfume - perfect for Grandma,
A scented candle in a christmassy tin - will go into a hamper for either parents or grandparents,
A silver clutch bag - either to sister, or teenage girl,
    and,
A pastel coloured handbag-style toiletries bag - which will possibly go into a pre-baby hamper I'm putting together - perfect size for hospital bag.

So, all in all, I'm happy :D - in fact I may even order another if I still can.
