Samsung Galaxy S7 Camera glass imploding

My Galaxy S7 phone had its camera glass broken while it was lying idle. I looked up on the internet and I'm not the only one who had such a problem. The problem seems to be prevailing across locations but Samsung doesn't seem to think its their design defect. It is costing me £140 for me to get this repaired. I'm furious that I'm having to spend my money on a phone which is meant to be a "high-end" one.

Has anyone had such an issue?

P.S.: This is not an accidental damage, but a camera glass shattering while it is lying idle.

I have exactly the same issue. I've had my phone for about a month and I picked it up from a table to take a picture and I just thought my camera was dirty but when I turned it round it had shattered.

Seriously don't even try samsung. The customer service has been beyond shocking. They haven't listened to a word I have said and have basically called me a liar (without actually saying it). I also got quoted £140.

I spoke to citizens advice and they said to deal with the place you bought the phone from instead of the manufacturer. They said go to the shop and explain the situation. If they say it's your fault and them to prove it. If they can't prove it you need to send an official complaint letter (with reference to the Consumer rights act 2015) to them. I have sent off a letter today to carphone warehouse so hopefully it will get sorted.

In this past week there has been so many articles posted online about the same thing so samsung will have to address this soon I think.
