We have a parking fine from Parking Eye saying we were parking ilegally at a blue badge holders car park. Our Blue Badge was on display. My husband has emailed them saying that the Blue Badge was on display whilst we were there. They have not replied to our email or acknowledged that they have received an email from us, This morning another letter saying if we dont pay it will be passed on to debt collectors or take us to court. My husband went on a forum which stated Parking Eye could not legally inforce the parking fine. Do any of you know of this company and should we pay it? Thank you

Hi Pixie House,
I am afraid Parking Eye are a genuine company and the ticket is enforceable at court. You would normally have 28days to appeal a ticket (unless otherwise stated by the parking company) and if you fail to appeal within that time the parking company doesn't have to accept your dispute. This leaves you with a couple of choices.
To pay the ticket, negotiate instalments if necessary. Or wait for the matter to go to the county court and attempt to file a defence at that stage.
Please be aware that the cost of the debt at court could be more than the original ticket and loss of earnings to the car park (as outlined in case law Beavis vs Parking Eye). If you successfully defend then the matter is closed. However, if you lose, it may increase further due to costs of the other side. You may find more info on the Parking forums but hopefully this gives you some idea where you stand.

Parking eye are a pain...
What may be worth a try is contacting the shop or company you were visiting when you parked and speaking to them. Most of the time they can "uninstruct" Parking Eye if you speak to them. Have had it done a couple of times myself at my vetsSince a second shop opened up and they now share a carpark someone decided to get Parking Eye in which is a pain if you are there for a while LOL
First time I was so used to being there I didn't twig (habit) and I got the vets to contact PE and cancel the ticket. Second time I told them when I arrived and they pre-warned PE that my reg was allowed to be on site longer than x time... 3rd time they just added me to the excluded registrations permanently so I can park whenever I like
Anyway - contact the store you went to, explain that you DID have your badge on show, but PE are not responding to your complaint/appeal. Ask them to intervene as obviously you would like to continue to visit their store but if you are going to get a fine each time then you won't be able to...

Agree with Mrs Tinks. Always go to the store first to complain. I got caught at Aldi, four minutes over my time. Had spent £33 in there. Always keep receipts. The store manager cancelled it for me.
