Morning everyone, thanks for the thread Gers.

Sorry to read yesterday was such a disaster Dumpling :(
Thinking of you Coxy, there are no words for what you are your family are going through so will just send gentle blessings x

No change with DM, she sleeps most of the time and is slowly drifting away from us. I did speak to the doctor and asked if she can go back on the drug driver to help with the nausea etc, she asked if we could just give it until today for the new regime to work, not happy but said ok.

Must admit am struggling now but all we can do is keep going, it's tough.

Have a good day everyone, take care folks x

  • Morning chums,

First day back at work and I'm taking the day to get my ducks in a row as I expect the month to be a busy one.

I've been to the gym this morning and I've brought my lunch with me, feeling super organised.

If that's not enough, I am also playing football tonight too. No rest for the wicked.

    Coxy - Thinking of you.
Dumpling - I'm sorry to hear your day didn't go quite as planned.
Lainey - Sending you hugs at this tough time.

Sorry you didn't make it to the dentist dumpling, couldn't be helped.
Hugs to you Lainey & Coxy.

Nice and bright here, bed stripped, washed and hanging on the pulley, I put washing out yesterday as it was lovely then it rained so not risking it today.

Off to meet DD in Glasgow in a bit, she's having her eyes tested so we'll go for lunch after.

Have a good day, take care. XX

I seem to always look out of the bedroom window when I get up at the moment and check if there's any frost on my neighbour's garage roof - all clear today so that's a good start!

I managed to keep my cold symptoms at bay with paracetamol yesterday, did a short walk and went to the Historical Society meeting in the evening. Was jolly cold walking home though.

I'm currently on my second cup of tea and yes, the cat is stalking me by lying across my shoulder. Need to get going as I have some library books to return and a little bit of shopping to do.

Think we'll be eating up leftover bits tonight. I have cauliflower cheese in the fridge, hummous, lots more eggs and can do jacket potatoes and veg sticks to help out.

    Have a good day everyone.

Hugs Lainey and Coxy. Dumpling, so sorry to hear about your ordeal, I hope it didn't set you back too much.

I've managed not to spend anything so far this year (although DH has spent on DIY stuff) but that will probably change today as I need milk. Like TA I want to use the stores and freezer as much as possible. I listed the fish drawer yesterday and have a lot of salmon, a bit of haddock and some smoked haddock which will keep me going. However, I also have 3 packs of smoked mackerel fillets which I normally eat in salads or make pate with, has anyone got any more inspired ideas?

The bean stew went down very well last night and I have 2 more portions for the weekend and 2 to put in the freezer. Tonight we will have chicken thighs with rice, tomato sauce and sweetcorn.

DH spent last night sanding down the walls he filled in the living room and amazingly the plastic sheeting he fixed across the room worked really well in keeping the dust out of the other half. He says he feels like Dexter though. I need to try to clean up some of the dust today but I don't want to use the dyson because we have ruined one that way. I will try spraying and using a dust pan and brush.

Good Morning chums and a grey dreich day it is as well on north Kent, very dark and dismal outside.I had a lovely meal at my quizzing friends last night and we all had a great natter about our Christmas/New Year etc and caught up with each others news.Quiz will restart next Tuesday again and we will all be back to normal again.
Later this morning I am going to DDs and DGS Ben will help me put my fold up table into my car to bring back to my house Its been on short term loan for the Christmas break. The other boys are back to school this morning so peace will reign until 3.30 when they come galloping in with cries of 'Oh I'm starving' :)
Lainey be strong honey and I'm thinking of you all at this tough time xx
Dumpling shame about the break down but these things happen for a reason I am a great believer of that (think Sliding Doors movie :):))

Right time i got the kettle on as I have a big box of Twinings breakfast tea that I was given and want to try it out (I am a real tea-pot and drink gallons of the stuff :))

Have a good day chums and stay warm and dry if possible with <<hugs>> to those who need one

My plans changed... after taking all my cardboard to the local tip I decided not to do the 70 mile round trip to Oban only to drop off the stuff at the recycling shop so did my shopping locally. I can live without wandering round the new Lidl.

I've stocked up on frozen vegetables and some bread for the freezer. Whilst I don't eat much bread there's always the odd day I fancy roasted cheese. There's also a couple of packets of rolls which I'll vac-pack for the freezer.

Just the online banking to do before I 'forget' about prepping and settle down with my book.

Dumpling - so sorry to read that your trip went Pete Tong, just typical!

News of Dolly is lovely, it made me smile.
  • Hugs to Lainey and Coxy.
Dumpling sorry to hear you didnt make it to the dentist.

Its sunny here but very cold wind so the sheets and towels are on the line.
I have been sitting having a cup of tea watching the birds in the garden, they make me smile.
OH has gone to the library and to pick up some milk and fruit thats all we need at the moment.
So the purse is firmly shut.
    Have a good day everyone.

    Morning all,

LaineyT, thinking of you. Such a tough time your going through. Many hugs.

Dumpling, sorry you have had to put off your visit till another time. It would have been better for you to have got it over and done with. Still it couldnt be helped.

Daughter had her baby dating scan yesterday. She is 12 weeks and 4 days pregnant. She bought me a picture of the scan. Lovely picture, nice and clear. Everything is how it should be at this stage. It is due on July 15th and couldnt be more loved by me than it is.

Ive never met a practising 'Hells Angel' before but i did last night. Think i got his whole life story in an hour. He was 7ft tall, 5ft wide, long hair in a pony tail and first impressions left me quaking in my shoes. Can you imagine a biker of such stature fitting in a micro car? Well nor me but he did.:rotfl: "Its too cold for me bike" he said. :D

    Yesterday was a good day.

    Onwards and forwards,

    have a good day all.
