  • Good Morning OSers,

Happy New Year to you all
Back to work for me today and lots to catch up on! Non stop this morning and I fear the rest of today will be no different. I much prefer being busy tho, I know I've earnt my pennies then.
It is freezing here. Frost and ice everywhere, my toes were so cold walking to the office this morning.
DD goes back to school tomorrow, getting up before 10am will be a great shock for her, but it'll be wonderful to get back to routine. My good eating habits have been hit hard over this festive period so during January I will be especially good.
A couple of friends and I are doing 'Dry January' and I'm being extra good food wise, hoping to get rid of this fluffy face feeling :o
Will be popping to Morrisons for a few veggies after work, think I'll need a tin of dog meat too.
Can't wait to get home already.

    Have good days all.
    Keep warm and safe! xx

lame wolf can you manage to do your bra up in the front then swing it round and put your arms in after
Unfortunately, no I can't. I used to be able to do this, but my hands and wrists are simply too weak and painful to manage it now, and I'd still need help to get the straps up onto my shoulders. :(

I just checked on ama**n and typed in front fastening bra and came up with lots of them.
I did look there, and came up empty (ie nothing that actually matched my requirements); I'll give it another go, maybe I wasn't doing the "right" search terms. ;)

Jackie I'll also G00gle G0ssard and see if they do anything suitable; it has to be a reasonable price of course - some of the ones I saw yesterday were £50 and over.

Dolly (was pumpkin)comes home to us on the 10th all being well with the home check on Friday she is a small 8 month old stray cross little bit timid and wary of other dogs but otherwise a lovely little girl we did pick another one but he was not for us as was very dog aggressive and we walk in a little group every evening so work to be done with Miss Dolly to make sure it all goes well
You should be fine with the home check, based on the fact that you've taken in a rescue dog before. :o I'm so pleased - with plenty of love and encouragement, I'm sure Dolly will learn to socialise with the other dogs. :T

If you try hard you can have relatively normal food in Subway though. On the rare occasions that we're in town a sliced beef and tomato sub is way better than McNastys or any other burger place. Even the small person prefers to go for a sub now rather than salt with a burger on the side :rotfl:

Happy Birthday hollysnan. May you enjoy many more.

Dumpling hope your dentist visit goes ok.

    Hoppy Birdday Hollysnan. :bdaycake:
Fwiw, I've never set foot in a Subway place; and wild horses wouldn't get me into a MaccyD or similar!
Basically, I dislike eating out at the best of times; I will smother my feelings for Mr LW's birthday, or our anniversary, (we always go to the same place, an independent pub/restaurant) but if he suggests coffee and sandwiches or something in town while we're shopping, I resist mightily, and say straight out I'd far sooner eat in the comfort of my own home, and if we get on and do what we came into town for, we can finish up and get home quicker. ;)

McNasty's was part of the "training the child to eat out programme". It's an easy start although the late MrC used to complain bitterly that everything tasted the same :rotfl:

I'm happy to report that aged 12 he is civilised enough to take to decent establishments if we need to eat out (like during the trip to see the Johann Strauss Orchestra last month when we stayed overnight in a hotel) and has been for some time. He also prefers to eat at home and dislikes Maccys intensely which is good. Even when the kitchen was being redone and I had no cooker he asked for toasties rather than burgers.

Caterina - safe journey, not long now!

Spent more time decluttering, my car is now stuffed with newspapers, cardboard and generally unwanted things ready for recycling or chucking out.

Had my first foot too so that meant a wee dram in the middle of the day. :j So a pleasant hour spent just chatting.

Did a wee online JL shop which I'll collect on Thursday when I go down to Glasgow again. They've got a sale on so got a couple of things which I can't live without, a new saucepan and a Kilner jar.

The woodburner is roaring away and I'm reluctant to move away from it even to go to the loo though I'll be forced to soon. I've whiled away a couple of hours adding artwork to my iTunes library for the ones which the programme couldn't find so spent time on Ama*on website searching for images and then copying them across.

Now it's time for my tea and a bit of telly. Hope all is well.
