Morning everyone, thanks for the thread nmlc.
Overcast and cloudy here but still cold, last night it was very icy and slippery underfoot
DM was very sleepy again yesterday and had been sick again for the first time in days, asked the nurse if it was anything to do with her going back on oral medication after being on the drug driver, she wasn't sure so I will make sure am there this morning when the doc makes her rounds.
Other than that not loads planned, will take the decs down and have a good tidy round, am late getting my diary this year so need to find one quickly, hopefully in the sales. I always get a calendar for the kitchen from the mare and foal sanctuary I support but do like a small diary for my handbag.
Will be thinking of you Dumpling, strength m'dear, hope all goes well for RR's DD in her new job and :j on the doggie news TM2.
Have a good day everyone, take care folks x0 -
Morning All
Good luck dumpling.
Fab news on the new addition tiredmum, great to give a second chance to the dog.
Congrats to DD RR.
Not much happening here, made a shoulder bag I can use for work yesterday - didn't have to unpick anything for once! The material was stored in friends Mums loft and has a funny smell about it so have given it a wash but still smells a bit funny.
The one eyed bird went home yesterday thank goodness, hope they take it to the vet soon.
I need to go out to get some more thread today so will have a little mooch about Dunelm, also have to take the library books back.
Have a good day, take care. XX0 -

Morning all. I'm sure there was frost on the cars last night when I looked out and I certainly heard the heating come on during the night but all seems clear this morning.
I seem to have a sore throat and a bit of a cold so I let DH get up first this morning! He's currently in the kitchen making me a cuppa and we've taken some pork chops out of the freezer to have tonight.
I was planning to get out for a walk today but I might cut that short - need a bit of fresh air though.
The pancakes didn't get made yesterday but I used up some eggs in a chocolate cake - basically the top half of a chocolate Victoria sandwich - so that got started for pudding. We don't really need any shopping today so that will keep the pennies in my purse.
Historical Society meeting tonight and I know various friends have said they're going so I'll see how I feel when the time comes.
Have a good day everyone.0 -
Morning everyone.
It's wet and cloudy here so no frost. Just more rain.
I've been awake since 6.00am lying in bed listening to some podcasts. Yesterday was 'Round Britain Quiz' and I had the Christmas episode of 'The Infinity Monkey Cage' to catch up with. Inevitably I fall asleep whilst listening so have to listen more than once or twice.
It's another bank holiday here so can't take the cardboard away yet. There's also a couple of garden chairs which got left outside at the start of winter and are now ruined and rusted, think I'll get some more robust ones this year and make sure I bring them in on time.
There's still plenty of food in the fridge so no shopping needed.
Camelot - did you master the gusset then?
Tiredmum - lovely to hear about another rescue dog.
Dumpling - you're doing so well, just keep breathing and think happy thoughts.
TA - I'm with you on reading today. It's good for us!
Right, the shower is beckoning. I need to vacuum the woodburner this morning if I'm to have heat today.
Happy Tuesday.0 -
Morning all,
Good luck to Miss RR in her new job.
Dumpling hope the dentist trip is ok today-hugs
Coxy-thinking of you and family
Lainey hope they can stop Mum being sick.
Glad to hear about Dolly tiredmum,I hate a dogless house too.
I am minding DGS today but as no jobs have come in for DH and DS they are here to help as well, little un will like having Daddy around all day.Ly1a has been walked before DGS got up and the recycling bins have been emptied.I used the leftover potato pie for tea last night, went down well againI have pork and veg from Sundays roast but I might freeze that, there is a moussaka in the fridge we can have. Not much freezer space again with all the leftovers, can't waste them though.
Thats about it from me,might try and take the tree down but I have a feeling DGS(3) might not like it,he's already asked if Santa is coming again today
Hope you all have a good day xx:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. (Eleanor Roosevelt)0 -
Gers, The gusset was easy once I got my head around which bit to sew, I'll do more like that as they seem to hold more.
Has anyone heard from Butterfly Brain? Hope you're ok BB.0 -
Morning all,
Dumpling, i hope all goes well for you today. I share your pain. I hate the dentist.
First day back at work for my men today. They almost collided on the stairs. Havent heard from 'Youngest' yet. Although he drives on the motorway every day he goes to work this is the first time he's had to drive on ice. He's only been driving 12 months and I'm trying not to message him to check he's ok.
My daughter has her first scan booked today to check on 'little bean's development. I hope all goes well. My little helper will be staying with me whilst they are at the hospital.
No sign of prodigal Son yet though i did tell him to come evenings (when his Dad and brother will be here). Its an awful thing to admit to that you dont trust your own Son. I'll do an evening meal as usual and if he turns up he can have mine, i'll have a Slimfast meal replacement shake which will help with my diet.
Dogs still got funny tummies but getting a lot better. They only got me up once in the night.
Onwards and forwards,
have a great day all. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
Good luck to RR's DD. Thinking of you Coxy, Lainey and Hilstep (if you are able to read this).
JackieO, would you believe I have never had a Subway, they just don't appeal to me at all.
I'm sitting in a peaceful house it's lovely. I do enjoy my quiet times and hardly ever have the TV on and never the radio when I'm by myself although I enjoy audiobooks when I'm doing housework or sewing something repetetive. A lot of people think I'm very strange because they enjoy listening to music all the time and I don't. Lame Wolf, I really feel for you with your tinnitus, it would be horrific for me.
Nothing on the agenda really. I did the can cupboard stocktake yesterday and was quite shocked, I only had one can of baked beans and one of tomatoes, one of soup as well and I usually have plenty of each. I have plenty of beans though so I shall make Somerset bean stew for dinner and have my second meatless day of the week. Luckily DH is quite happy with meatless meals. Actually the only thing Somerset about it is that it contains cider so as I have none I should call it bean stew.
Now I'm wittering so I shall "love you and leave you" as my mum used to say (I've been thinking about her and dad a lot lately as it comes up to the anniversaries of their deaths - 3 and 4 years now).0 -
Not my cup of tea either I usually have the salad box which is quite nice, but the boys adore Subways, probably because they don't get them very often, their Mum and I are not lovers of 'instant food' and I guess its better than a MaccyD.0
