We took DS to get his feet measured & buy his first pair of shoes yesterday. He was very good & we got a lovely wee pair in the sale for £11. :j Will need to take him back to be re-measured in 8-10 weeks though. And so the saga of continual shoe buying begins.
DH had a flat tyre on his car so we got that replaced this morning, cost £78. Thankfully we had the money in the car savings account. DH now going to start saving for his new cam belt & service next Spring so going to try & sell some things and put the money into the car savings account (over & above the £35 p/m that currently goes in there).
Paid £50 off my z0pa loan yesterday, which will take the monthly payments to £181. This will be my last overpayment to this loan as have knocked approx £40 a month off the payments & the loan will end in April 2019. Any overpayments will now go towards the biggest car loan as we can lower the interest paid & shorten the term as well by overpaying. I will try to make small overpayments to the 0% CC as well, it too should be paid off next April. :j So we'll only have the 2 car loans after that.
Today we're taking DS to our niece's 2nd birthday party, hopefully he'll enjoy himself.Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts. Car loan 1 £11,174, Car loan 2 £5,532, CC 0% BT £780. Debt Free Diary to try & keep spending in check.0 -

Shoes for the first few years are pretty easy, I found with my children. They only really needed an every day pair at first and gradually a pair of sandals for summer and boots for winter.
Now, they are older, its a different story:
DD has always complained about every pair of shoes we try on. The only place she tolerates is Clarks and the told me recently that she has high arches and that’s probably why she doesnt feel comfortable in many shoes.
DS can wear shoes from anywhere, but, at aged 8, he only has to look at a pair of shoes and he has destroyed them. Last school year, he destroyed 3 pairs. We have no idea how.0 -
Hi chanie, :rotfl: at your DS destroying shoes by looking at them.
DS enjoyed his cousin's party, he was a bit clingy at first and wouldn't let go of DH but then relaxed and joined in.It was a nice day so we were out in the garden as well.
Worked a late shift on Sunday so was feeling really tired yesterday. We went out with DS for our lunch & DS was acting up nearly the whole time. He kept crying & wanting out of the highchair and then smacked his nose off the edge of the table (which was the exact height of the highchair ) so was screaming. Poor soul had a big line across the bridge of his nose.He did eat most of his kids portion though which was good. We were definitely the annoying family that everyone was wishing would leave.
The waitress was very grouchy & just wanted us out of there too. We were all exhausted after that!
DH went to Mr Al's today as I asked him to go for a change. :T All I've done today is a bit of hoovering & hang out with DS. He has a bit of a cold with a runny nose so not quite himself.
DH cleared out some of his clothes & shoes so have put them plus some books into another charity bag that will be picked up tomorrow. Also managed to tidy the spare room a bit by clearing the stuff that was lying about in bags on the floor. I found a bag of baby/toddler safety things (catches for cupboard doors, corner protectors for tables etc) in one of the bags lying there, our friends must have given it to us so that will come in useful.Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts. Have been working, hence too tired to read or post.
We got two bags of clothes, shoes & books collected by the charity mid-week. I need to go through my handbags as some are past their best, they might need to be binned as material is flaking/peeling off so not really useable as it doesn't look good.
On Thurs I took DS to a different playgroup with my friend & her DS. We walked down as it's not far from our housing estate, took about 20 mins each way. DS really enjoyed himself. This one is on twice a week so I should be able to take him to at least one session a week.
DS still not walking but think he's quite close, crawling is just less effort for him. :rotfl:
Cashed out another £10 SB voucher & £24 from PA today, not far from another £25 from 0nepoll too. :T DH has paid £60 off our biggest loan & put £100 by towards his new cam belt (due next March/April) with some cashback he got through. :j
I bought 4 sticker books today for birthdays/Christmas from The W0rks - 2 Horrible Histories ones for £2 each, 1 Shopkins one for £1 & a Marvel avengers one for £1. Will need to add to my list so I don't forget about them.
I want to make a sock monkey for DS as part of his Christmas & possibly also make 2 for my younger nieces if I have time. I made quite a few for my older nieces & nephews when they were younger & they loved them so think the wee ones now would like some.
Quite fancy a wooden activity cube for DS as part of his Christmas too, he was quite interested in the one at playgroup the other day. Will have a think, don't want to buy too much for him.
Have been doing bare minimum housework by chucking the odd washing into the machine, hanging it up and/or throwing it into the TD and washing dishes etc. Have been coming home from early shifts to DH handing me DS & running out of the door to work late shifts the last couple of days, so am knackered. Have 3 days off now which I'm glad of.Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts. Car loan 1 £11,174, Car loan 2 £5,532, CC 0% BT £780. Oh & forgot to mention, DH & I have agreed to start saving into an emergency fund starting next year as we don't have any real savings if everything went t*ts up money wise. We have different savings accounts but they are really just pots for car savings, household items, birthdays/Christmas, cat costs etc so a significant amount never builds up in any of them.
Next April we will get rid of 2 debts - z0pa & the 0% CC & hopefully will get a decent rate when we remortgage as well - so hoping to put most of the money not going to those debts into an emergency fund. Will probably use some of it to overpay our biggest loan as well though as the sooner we get rid of the 2 remaining loans the better.
I would love to add a summer room onto our kitchen & extend into the loft for more space but don't see any way of affording it any time soon.FIL is always nagging DH & asking when we are at least going to get the summer room added on. I don't know why he doesn't seem to understand that we cannot afford to do it in any way, shape or form!:eek: I don't think DH has told them how much debt we are in because he doesn't want a lecture.

I feel like all I've done the last couple of days is put washings on! Had a fairly lazy Sunday with DH & DS. DH made roast chicken, potatoes & Yorkshire puddings which were amazing. DS was loving the chicken & the yorkies, kept stuffing as much as he could into his mouth.:rotfl:
Ordered my diary & family planner/calendar for next year as was sent a 20% off discount code. I like to get them ordered at this time of year so I don't forget.
Today I took DS for a visit to my mum's & we took him out for a walk. I did the big cat litter clean after my general tidy-up, dishwasher on, hand wash dishes done & put (another) washing on whilst DH was putting DS to bed.
Have cashed out another £5 from a survey site & will pay this off the 0% CC.
Need to change the bed sheets tomorrow, clean the bathrooms & do some hoovering. DH is going out for dinner with his friend so just me & DS. I'll need an early night as back to work Wed & Thurs.Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts. Car loan 1 £11,174, Car loan 2 £5,532, CC 0% BT £780. Hi redo,
DS is such a good eater just now, I'm going to have a proper shock if he starts getting fussy. :rotfl: My MIL just keeps warning me that DH ate them out of house & home as a teenager.
DS didn't sleep well last night so we are both knackered. Think a lazy(ish) day is in order. Need to get a bit of housework done (as ever).
Cats are sunbathing on the dining table. DS can't quite reach them there which is good as yesterday he was trying to put their tails in his mouth. He keeps pinning big cat down on the floor with his full body to "cuddle" him, saying "Awww". I am simultaneously going  & :rotfl:. Poor big cat, he is so tolerant. DS doesn't realise he is being rough when trying to cuddle & is a lot more gentle when trying to stroke both cats these days. The Siamese is too used to small children to be caught for a dubious "cuddle" by DS hence it's always big cat who gets caught.:oSuccess is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts. Managed to get the bed stripped & re-made and sheets washed and dried. Also washed & dried the cat blankets from various cat beds.
Hoovered the whole house & cleaned the insides of the patio doors & kitchen window. Will need to do the outsides another day, the insides were dirty enough. Wiped down the outside of the fridge freezer, the inside will have to wait.
Then cleaned the bathrooms whilst DS had a nap, so I didn't have to stop every 2 mins to stop him putting everything down the toilet/ripping the toilet roll to shreds/trying to eat or drink various inedible substances.
Need to have an early night as up at 5am again tomorrow for work. Going out for lunch after work on Thursday though which will be fun.Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts.
