advice needed on using data ...

3 students living in a house using laptops on the Bt broadband wifi which runs at about 17 m .

One of them telling me that he's not able to watch movies etc on laptop as speed no good .. so is using his o2 mobile .. but eating data allowance which was 6gb a month ,overused/ overspent various times , have changed contract to 10gb and still not enough .

Costing a fortune ! .

Ideas ? / Alternatives ? ...ideally need to be using the laptop for viewing .. not smartphone . Any gadgets / boosters etc to help ?

For a better speed and connectio- better router- acces point- would be beneficial, also in settings, there are settings for different accounts, that could be compromised...

Is the internet speed no good or is his wi-fi connection not good enough? I suspect it could be the wi-fi connection. Have him plug his laptop into the router with a cable and see it everything is OK. If it is then the internet connection you have is fine and you have to sort out the link from the router to the laptop.
