parking ticket on false basis

i received a private parking charge by a company called opc, it is for 100 pounds and they say the only way to appeal is by post.
they say i stayed at the car park for 8 hours because their cameras recorded when i entered and left. the maximum stay is for 2 hours. but what actually happened was that i had made 2 journeys that day to the car park within that 8 hour time frame (with a considerable amount of time between both visits) and both stays were under 2 hours.
they have my name and registration and they say the got it from dvla .
i did a bit of research and this has happened before, infact there is an express and star article that perfectly describes my situation but unfortunately i cannot submit links.
however if u type "parking fines firm admits misleading motorists" into google it should be the first link.
any help would be appreciated because i feel like complaining to this company without proper knowledge will be a waste of time as it looks like they are pieces of scamming !!!!!! in the first place

Send the BPA template in blue from the NEWBIES thread and send from a Post Office counter, first class and get a free proof of posting. You could add if you wish, without giving away the driver's details, that their ANPR system is defective and the driver made two separate visits that day.
You will then need to read up on how to appeal at PoPLA if/when they reject your initial appeal. (This is normal.)
The comment about them having a wish list for something on the 29th of Jan is irrelevant. You won't be paying.I married my cousin. I had to...I don't have a sister. All my screwdrivers are cordless."You're Safety Is My Primary Concern Dear" - Laks0 -
It's Observices isn't it? Nasty bunch of notorious ex-clampers.
You can potentially sue them and the landowner (or DVLA) for data misuse, there was no reasonable cause to get your data and this ANPR flaw is well known. 'Double dip' cases like this are ripe for DPA 'misuse of data' claims to get you £250 or more, IMHO.
But first of all, complain to the landowner, warn them you will sue them as jointly liable for the actions of their agent. And appeal to that nasty bunch Observices with out saying who was driving.
Use the blue template in the NEWBIES thread but add that the car in fact visited twice so this is a flaw with their ANPR checks (if they bother to make any) and will result in a complaint to the BPA, the DVLA, the ICO and Trading Standards.
Be really assertive with them, I'm sure you will be up for that, going by what you called them in your OP!PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

also note this is called "double dipping" and has been extensively written about both on here , and on parking pranksters blogsite , so have a good read about similar cases , even if they are about different parking companies , because it is a VERY COMMON PROBLEM , not just for OBSERVICES

Double dipping also opens up the question of a Data Protection act issue, as the Parking company will not have had a good cause to access your private data, also liable for this will eb the landowner/whoever contracted the parking company as they are jointly liable for the actions of their agentsFrom the Plain Language Commission:

A parking firm has been fined more than £26,000 for misleading drivers at a Black Country shopping centre.
Observices Parking Consultancy, which controls parking at St John's Retail Park in Wolverhampton, was investigated by Trading Standards following complaints.
City magistrates heard how shoppers can leave their vehicles on the car park for two hours for free but are fined £100 if they stay longer.
They are also warned the bill could rise to £400 if the ticket is challenged.
But several drivers alleged that, after making two visits to the site, they received a fine despite never staying more than two hours.
The court was also told fines were not issued for months and company director Douglas Harris admitted taking more than the required 28 days to request vehicle details from the DVLA.
Prosecutor Mr Tony Watkins said yesterday the car park was monitored by cameras that took a timed photographs but there was confusion involving cars visiting twice in one day.
Mr Patrick Maggs, defending Harris and OPC, said a better camera system was now installed.
Harris, of New Road, Radley, Hertfordshire, earlier admitted 13 offences, including displaying 15 misleading signs at the site and sending letters from a debt recovery firm without revealing it was the same company as OPC.
OPC earlier pleaded guilty to 23 charges, including similar offences and further counts in which details of the "additional vehicle activity" of drivers were ignored. The admissions were made on the basis of neglect rather than connivance. Harris was fined £3,100 and ordered to pay £2,585 costs. His firm OPC was hit with a £26,750 fine and £5,000 costs.Save a Rachael

OPC are well known, read this

And more here: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/uknews/crime/9179438/DVLA-sells-details-to-convicted-criminal.htmlDVLA sells details to convicted criminal
The Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency has sold the personal details of more than 7,000 drivers to a company run by a convicted criminal it has emerged
The DVLA sold motorists’ names and addresses to a parking enforcement company just seven weeks after it admitted dozens of criminal offences.
Observices Parking Solutions, run by Douglas Harris, was fined £29,850 after a court ruled it had been “recklessly unfair” to drivers last year
As Observices are well known, together with the antics of their Director Mr Douglas Harris, question must be asked of the retail park, especialy what they are doing hiring such an outfit.
I would advocate coming down on the retail park like a ton of bricks, and if there has been a breach of the DPA the retail park should be at the top of the list for having responsibility in this matter. From the Plain Language Commission:
