The site with the jigsaws on is the jigsaw puzzles dot com. There are other sites if you look for them, but the above the puzzles are free, some of the others you have to pay around £3 for about 30 puzzles.
With the first site you can decide on how many pieces you want the puzzle to break into and believe me some of them are not easy. I found them good to break the monotony on Boxing Day, at one point both of us were doing the same puzzle seeing who could finish it quicker!! Sad arnt we???0 -
Afternoon everyone,
Its alot colder here today and very dull.
I have had a very relaxing day filling in my new diary with important dates and birthdays.
Also writing a list in my new journal of what I would like to do this year.
One of the things is to get rid of clutter in our home.
With being so ill nothing much got done in those 4-5 months.
So like you TravellingAbubla I will try and do one drawer at a time.
My aim is to finish the whole house by the end of the year just doing it slow and steady.0 -
I decluttered my knicker drawer this morning, I got rid of everything that was frayed, too small, impractical and/or never worn.Chin up, Titus out.0

Just popped back on to boast a little bit! I have made a small start and decluttered the 3 drawers in the dresser! Well actually two of them mainly got away with a tidy but one was stuffed full of cards (birthday, Easter, Mothers Day, holiday postcards etc etc) which have gone in the recycling and also a big batch of memorials and orders of service from funerals attended over the last few years. I felt guilty about it but they too have gone in the recycling. I am dreading starting on the cupboards below them but that's for another day! Baby steps ......!
Here we are at nearly 4.00 pm and it's still quite light outside. It's not long since it was dark at 4.00 and we were closing the blinds. It gives you a bit of hope that spring might soon be on its way!!
Have a nice evening folks xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"0 -
Afternoon all,Hard_Up_Hester wrote: »I decluttered my knicker drawer this morning, I got rid of everything that was frayed, too small, impractical and/or never worn.
I did that not so long back. I'm down to 6 pairs, all black, all practical. I do like satin french knickers but they arent that easy to come by these days and i doubt i could afford them anyway. They were quite popular when i was in my 20s. Thats probably why i spent all my 20s on my back (pregnant or giving birth).:D
Just come back from grocery shopping. I managed to get the food bill down to £35 this week but thats only because the cupboards are still bursting.
Hubby is in a lather over money. I did tell him a month before Christmas was the wrong time to buy a car but did he listen? Did he heck. So then he had the expense of the second car, then Christmas and now he's been called up for Jury Service. Oh well, its another 2 weeks off work next month. Yes, he's flapping about bills.
Fed Prodigal Son again this morning. He's treading mud at the moment. All his own fault and i cant see how he can climb his way out without us taking him back in. Youngest says he will move out if that happens as he wasnt very nice to him when he was still at home and sharing a bedroom.
Still no news on Hilstep. I'd like to think she is still with us but after a month and knowing her illness is terminal i am aware she may not be. I hope she is free of pain where ever she is.
A quiet night in for me again. Need to get the packed lunches ready for the men to take to work tomorrow.
Onwards and forwards,
have a good evening all. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
Afternoon all.
I have been reading this thread whilst waiting for the floor to dry after mopping it. Thought I would post as I'm feeling quite smug about my achievements today. I have cleaned the bathroom, dusted, hoovered, mopped and changed my bedding as well as washing the set I took off.
I'm now sat with my feet up, drinking coffee and eating choccies
I have started reading the O/S forum daily and will make more effort to post rather than just lurk.
Dreading tomorrow as I'm back to work with an earlier start than I anticipated. I worked between Xmas and NY but somehow the thought of an early start tomorrow is very unwelcome.
Enjoy your evening everyone.'I'm sinking in the quicksand of my thought

Afternoon - mission accomplished! Utility room cleared out, newspapers in the small barn adding to the growing pile for the woodburner, magazines in the blue bag and assorted other stuff either in the bin or in the blue bag.
I've got a little pile of things in the big barn for the recycling shop in Oban, they take in stuff and sell it on. There's a lovely trolley bag for a laptop and overnight things, I used it loads when working in England but now it's redundant and gathering dust. There's also a drainer rack, a little radio and a big white nappy bucket all to go. I'm getting ruthless.
The Christmas tree is outside, the cards are in the blue bag and the decorations back in the box and in the barn. There' a load of cardboard to go to the tip and then I can put some more things from the house into the small barn. I want the house to be more free of stuff even if I may need it.
I've been searching of ways to organise my new chest freezer and saw on the internet about using the large 'bags for life' from supermarkets so I've now got one with the lamb, one with the venison and another with bread now lying neatly. I don't want to rummage around inside, I'll have another one with batch meals soon.
Now I've got the last glass of grape juice in last nights' bottle waiting to be decluttered, that'll happen tonight.
Flipping magic!
I hope everyone's had a good day too.0 -
Don't put ideas into their heads!!!! :rotfl:PS Caterina I have those air-freshener things, if I want fresh air I just open the window, free and untaxed by the government at the moment
:):)
Joking aside, I find most artificial "air fresheners" just make me feel queasy; and anyway, what's wrong with Eau de Damp Dog?
If I threw out all the frayed/tatty ones, I'd be going commando! :rotfl:Hard_Up_Hester wrote: »I decluttered my knicker drawer this morning, I got rid of everything that was frayed, too small, impractical and/or never worn.
I do need some new bras though; my "newest" ones are at least four years old, some are going in holes, and I'm "spilling out" of all of them.
I did an online search, and nowhere - nowhere can I get something I like, in a nice design/colour, with front fastening (I can't do back fastening ones myself at all, been relying on Mr LW for a good few years, but I'd like to be able to dress myself if ever he was in hospital again). If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
lame wolf can you manage to do your bra up in the front then swing it round and put your arms in afterAll that clutter used to be money0
-
Lame Wolf
I just checked on ama**n and typed in front fastening bra and came up with lots of them.
DDs, son in law and friends have now all gone and I have four loads
of washing to get dry. I still have a couple of beds to change and the airing cupboard is looking empty as a lot of towels have been used. To go from one person to seven people makes a heck of a difference in terms of bedding , towels and dishes etc but I have really enjoyed having a house full of people. On the other hand I am enjoying being on my own and watching whatever I fancy on tv and eating a snack and dozing off whenever i fancy."This site is addictive!"
