Csarina, that sounds interesting - what site do you use for the jigsaws. Not that I need to spend any more time on the computer!

Minus 3 here, I hope it's warmer tomorrow as it back to work and the heating won't be working.
Snoozer, I share your pain, my L&M has to have his regular fix of tool !!!!!! at the DIY shop.
No real plans today though I will go for a walk later and try to persuade my L&M to come too.
    Have a good day everyone.

Hello all, thanks for the thread nmlc xx

Sorry I haven't been on for a few days. Thank you for thinking of me and the family. I have no words to say about the funeral - not enough adjectives in the dictionary to describe the heartache and I get tearful just thinking about it. I was driving that day - both DH and DS1 were pall bearers and their need for a beer was greater than mine. There was thick fog on the journey home and I wept for hours when we got in. Couldnt make it to our friends on nye as just felt too awful. We met up with the family yesterday in Greenwich - boy was it cold and wet, especially waiting for the riverboat. Seeing everyone again on Saturday for the panto at Bromley.

I am meeting a friend today for coffee today but not much else planned. We have my 8 year old nephew for a couple of nights until he goes back to school. He is largely oblivious to what has happened but knows exactly when to dish out the hugs.

Dinner will probably be chicken curry and naan bread. Nice and simple.

Lainey - hugs to you and DM. Hope she is settled at the hospice xx
Caterina - get well soon xx

    Have a good day all

We were going to IK*a today to spend our xmas tree voucher but its not valid yet as their sale is still on we just fancied a little trip out but to be honest i can't really be bothered as i expect it will be crowded

    Morning all,

Very cold here too but with a good breeze I have a wash on the go and will hang it out for a while will probably have to finish it in the td.

We had a great NYE with my sister and friends so much so that yesterday was a bit of a wash out :o we got home about 12ish had a bit of lunch lit the fire and put film on and we all fell asleep it was pouring with rain outside and even the dog slept all afternoon !

Today I am going to have a good clean through and I have to do an internet food shop as stocks are running low, tonight I might do some smoked salmon and prawns with bread and butter and salad, that will be the last of the savoury food used up, the sweets are a different matter entirely we have so many !!

Coxy how heart-breaking for you all sending hugs hugs xx

    Lainey thinking of you xx

Still heard nothing from Hilstep :(

    Have good days all xx

Morning all, I had a wonderful sleep and a major lie in until 6 so feel refreshed.
As predicted, I have lots of leftover lamb so that will be this evening's dinner.
It is cold outside but very warm indoors as my OH left the heating on (the time control thingy doesn't work, you have to remember to switch it off) and also, the fairy lights but those are on batteries.
I have a friend coming round this afternoon, and plan to enjoy my last day of freedom. Back to work tomorrow.
Thinking of those who need support at present, am glad to know that LaineyT's mum's pain is under control. I have been wondering about Hilstep too.

ETA my tiny border collie was very fiddly hut has turned out well and now Im making a cat, will also make farmers, pigs, sheep, cows and a horse and some hens. Oh and a fox.

Lovely and bright here after yesterday's rain. I washed the towels last night but they are in the tumble drier as I don't think they will even harden off outside.

Most of the Christmas food has been eaten. We had steak casserole with dumplings and vegetables last night and there is extra veg for bubble and sqeek for lunch today. Dinner tonight? Don't know yet. Could be Gastro fish from the freezer as it was on offer at Mr T the other day.

Well have a good day and hugs to poorlies and those facing loss and illness.

  • Morning everyone,

Had a lovely day yesterday spent with family, a new year tradition in our family. I'm off work today and tomorrow and I don't really have many plans, just going to enjoy it before a hectic few months in work.

Hope you all have a lovely day :)

Caterina - Enjoy your final day of your holiday
AoD - A major lie in till 6? My goodness, I dread to think what an early rise is for you.
    Coxy - Thinking of you.
  • Speky, an early rise for me is before 4. I'm not much of a sleeper, never was but anything before 4 results in a tired and crabby me.

It is lovely and bright here but so nippy that none of the frost has melted.

    Hi everyone
Feeling sad as my eldest DD left about an hour ago to go back to Amsterdam She's been home for just over 2 weeks and its been so nice....lots of family time and long chats. I feel sadder about her leaving than I ever have before. Never mind, just got to get on with it....I'll see her again in April, as I'm going for a visit.

Got all the Christmas decorations tidied away yesterday, though still got to get the bags back up into the very big cupboard in youngest DDs room. Hoovered downstairs but will leave upstairs till tomorrow....not back at work till Wednesday.
Hope evryone has a good day
