I am surprised you could detect a difference between work and holiday!0

What was that? You have to exchange on a new build?
Be glad someone gave you more thinking time!0 -

- As in checking it is the standard set-up - ie house is freehold and there are no communal maintenance charges?
- As in getting ready to work out a snagging list of all the "bits" they should have sorted - but probably haven't?
.EDIT:..and yep...this time of year is frustrating to those of us that just want to "carry on as normal". I've taken to using the enforced "rest" as time for planning/fine-tuning/etc for the year ahead personally.0 -
Yes. It has been nice to relax. Normal speed for me will resume on Tuesday.
The exchange timings don't bother me - it's not my fault they closed for 10 days. If they become annoying, I'll walk.0 -
Aye, but its nice & quiet on the roads.0

Why on earth should they be at work on a bank holiday just to please you?greyroofer wrote: »Will all the solicitors, bankers and property people get back to work now please!0 -

It's the shortest break i've known in years.
Try buying away from the Christmas period.
Try buying with a decent solicitor. ( Who would have warned at delays at this time of year )
Um, no one else, professional or otherwise cares..0 -
Committment seems a little lacking?greyroofer wrote: »If they become annoying, I'll walk.
This isn't really something to be entered into lightly. It shouldn't be taken in hand, unadvisedly, lightly, or wantonly, to satisfy men's carnal lusts and appetites, like brute beasts that have no understanding; but reverently, discreetly, advisedly, soberly.....errr...um....Hang on a minute, that's the other Biggie!
Hopefully, you get my point though. With my first purchase, wild horses wouldn't have dragged me away, let alone a bit of 'annoyance.'0
