FGS how did anyone survive before smart phones, apps and GPS.

    A MAP.

Hope you have a great holiday.

I went to NY last year without any of those things mentioned. Found our way around no bother. Used WiFi for Facetime and Skype/Whatsapp calls.

Really do not know what the problem is here. But what do I know lol.

I got a 3 sim, and used that in NY- but 3g/4g isn't as good there as here, think the huge buildings have something to do with it. It was quite sketchy, but did work most of the time. We also used city mapper app, great to tell you how to get to a place, it tells you the underground route then the walking route on a map. It's very useful.

Would you really have spent that £1,900 if the Three plan had been unavailable?

No. But because I had the plan, and unlimited data, I never bothered to turn my data off, and used it for Google Maps and the NY Subway map to get around.

Surely this is a typo,if there for 5 days that would be £380 a day or nearly £16 an hour if used for 24 hours a day:eek:
I will certainly not be taking my mobile with me when we go in March,Talktalk will have a field day.

Nope not a typo. 3 sent me a text message shortly after I returned to the UK to let me know how much I had saved.

It's so nice to be old & able to go on holiday without my mobile!
Tall, dark & handsome. Well two out of three ain't bad.
  • I'm with 3, and saved over £1,900 when I used my phone on a recent holiday to New York, as the US is covered by their Feel At Home service.

I saved £1,100 when we went to Washington earlier this year and am just ending a holiday in Australia which is another Feel At Home country.

Due to a family crisis whilst we've been away it was great knowing I could phone home and not have to think about the cost.

Well worth my £20 monthly fee!
