Problems With Downloading Apps on Mobile

Hi Guys,

In September 2014, I bought a new Samsung Galaxy Core Prime phone. It works fine but I’m having problems downloading apps onto it. I recently tried to download National Express VUER app and the FB app. They appeared to have been downloaded but when I look on the phone for the app icons they aren’t there. However, when I go on the internet and enter the web addresses for those apps, it states “downloaded” but I can’t see the app icons on my phone. Has anyone else had this problem? I would appreciate some advice about how I can rectify this.

Some months ago I managed to download the viber app but I don’t use it so would like to remove it. How do I do that please? This is the only app that I’ve successfully downloaded.

Remove viber the same way you installed it. goto the App store and see all installed apps and select uninstall.

The NE app should be in the app folder, unless its a widget?

  • When you say you went to the websites where it said they were downloaded do you mean the Play store? And if so was this on a PC? If so that's not always accurate. Access the Play store on your phone and look for the apps there, if it says they're installed then they are there somewhere. The Express app is called VUER and is a blue rectangle with VUER in the middle. I tried to download FB but it got hung up installing so had to reboot.

  • Yes, the play store kept appearing even though I didn't type that in so I didn't understand why it kept coming up. This was on my mobile (Galaxy Core Prime).

I've downloaded Vuer on my ipad so I probably won't bother trying to do it on my phone now.

That is because you get apps from the Play store on Android phones not websites.

I was wondering if you had any other devices listed on your Google account, that's why I asked whether you were using the Play store on your mobile or on a PC. Is it possible that you just downloaded to the wrong device?

I am not sure exactly how to undownload it. Can't you delete it?
To remove an app: Go to settings -> Apps. Find the app in question in the list. Select it. Chosse the uninstall option (if available). Apps that come with the phone may not be able to be removed.
