If we go to Singapore I'm going to splurge with one night at the Marina Bay Sands Hotel so we can use the infinity pool on the roof. :D

Singapore is one of my favourite places and we paid for a room in the Marina Bay to use the infinity pool....and got upgraded. The room was the most fabulous I have ever stayed in and we got free afternoon tea/ drinks and canap!s. The pool was one of my all time favourite moments.......have I convinced you yet ????
Is it actually legal to visit Singapore and NOT have a night there - even I've heard of it :D.

Great news on the job offer, if the Masters is meant to be it will turn up when the time is right. In the meantime, woohoo to 8k extra - and an even bigger woohoo to a shorter commute (I used to have a minimum of 1 3/4 hrs each way, it really takes its toll, even though I was only going in 2 or 3 times a week).

ETA - just did a search for a random date in April for the hotel - £263 on booking.com and £435 on hotelopia - breakfast included with the latter - it must be some spread for over £85 a head :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:.

Thanks everyone. :) It is a great new job, and I think once I start the excitement will overtake the disappointment. Doesn't mean I'm not going to give it another go next year though, hopefully I understand the application process a little better!

BM - you have definitely convinced me. An infinity pool is on my bucket list, and a trip to Singapore is on OH's. So we will both be thrilled.

£265 is ok for one night, I think, gallygirl. But I think I can do without an £85 breakfast. :rotfl:

Notice has gone in my current workplace, and I have 7 weeks and 5 days left to go. :D Boss and big boss are not pleased with me, but I'm not really sure why this seemed to be a surprise. It's amazing how just knowing that you are leaving makes everything less stressful.

Nice MSE moment, I put our old fridge/freezer up on gumtree on Wednesday evening. In 24 hours I'd had 20 people interested and it had gone. Probably could have got a few more pounds for it, but I wanted it out quickly and that's certainly what I got.

Two weeks ago OH won £13 on a trivia app called the Cash Show and it landed in his paypal account yesterday. They run live shows of 12 trivia questions at 12:30pm and 9pm every day. The last 7 questions are "prize" questions and the prize is split amongst how many people get that question right. We enjoy it if we're in (although the presenters are normally a little annoying) and I normally pick up a few pennies which is a bonus. Happy to rec it to people now that the money has turned up. :D

If anyone thinks about having a go - my referral code is 3Y5YEZ. Gets me and the person who uses it an extra life.

Easter weekend! I'm on call until this evening when I'm off for a cider festival (my life is so hard) and OH is on nights, so I'm spending the morning with Netflix and the box of Easter chocolate I got for signing up to Quidco. :D

Well, the bosses aren't pleased cos you've jolted their routine - I'm glad its already less stressful for you :) And well done on gumtree, thats a real result.

The app sounds interesting! My trivia might be a bit out of touch, though, and some areas I never got interested in are common knowledge (TV soaps! Omigod, yep, my knowledge is so out of date its embarrassing :) ).

I get that, I just find it funny that they are annoyed now. I told boss I was unhappy and jobhunting in January. Told them that I had the interview, that I had accepted the job and they provided a reference. Not sure why my notice was a surprise. Besides, my boss is actually leaving three weeks before I do. :rotfl:

Cash Show is unlikely to make big money (I probably make 50p a week) but as I watch quiz shows for free it's a good bet. We play HQ Trivia as well - a friend tells me they pay out the following day, and it's bigger money. Catch is that you need to get all 12 questions right and then £750 is split between anyone who gets that far. I have a friend who is good at general knowledge and picked up £250 for 15 minutes worth of work. :p

Oh I see what you mean :p It was never reasonable, but then it becomes :eek::eek: that they dare to have a bit of a paddy!
