Well, I tossed "Watchmen" - definitely not for me.
I'm starting "His Bloody Project" by Graeme Macrae Burnet. It was shortlisted for Booker Prize. I heard the author talk about it on radio. It's about trying to find out why chap committed murder (he has confessed and is in prison already).Sewing 88/COLOR]Woollies 19Card s 91Reading 37/400 -

Would like to join in again this year.
I have targeted to read 30 books this year, about 1 every 10 days or so.
My first book (started New Years Day) is City Of Thieves by David Benihoff
Well, Finished City of Thieves. gave it 4/5
I would put it down as a young adult book. the subject matter was not as harrowing as i thought it could have been. it carried along at a good pace, and was not overly predictable.
Sticking with the WW2 theme..
The next book is :- London's Burning, by Anthony J Bird.
Never put off till tomorrow what you can do today!
Cos if you do it today and like it...You can do it again tomorrow..

First one of the year for me:
7/10. Pretty harrowing in part, gives good insight into the Ayatollah's regimen in Iran and perhaps to a degree what life must be like under ISIS.
Has made me count my blessings if nothing else.Value-for-money-for-me-puhleeze!
"No man is worth, crawling on the earth"- adapted from Bob Crewe and Bob Gaudio
Hope is not a strategy...A child is for life, not just 18 years....Don't get me started on the NHS, because you won't win...I love chaz-ing!

Valm: you are in for a treat with a street cat.
I have a whole host of books here to plough through, I want to make a start on some Terry Prachett, having read my first one of the Wee Free Men which has got me rather hooked.0 -

Hi purple kitten. I have made more of an effort to read on the bus and over my lunch break the last couple of days and have got more into it. Am enjoying it more. Have you read any of the sequels?Back for the No Buying Toiletries challenge. I pledge to only buy when I run out of a product that is not already in my stash no matter what wonderful emails land in in my Inbox or threads I read on MSE re: glitches!

I'm going to read Linwood Barclay - The 23. It's the third of a trilogy. It's the first book I've read this year so far.:)greentiger wrote: »
I'm still reading "Watchmen", a graphic novel.
I've seen the film, very weird and very violent as I remember!:eek:0 -
Not sure how to quote people yet
but ive just had to google "The Twenty Three" as i love Lynwood Barclay , noticed its 1 of 3 and not a stand alone book, think it might be too much for me at the moment. Day off yesterday so in between housework managed to finish"I let you go" 9/10 for this one , great set off twists, im on nights tonight so will be taking the right book this time , only thing is i have to sit in the corridors in dimmed lighting , not very good for the eyes.
