By the way I've been trying to order some bits from the Tu website now the 25% discount is on there, but tons is out of stock already - it definitely wasn't at the weekend as I was searching for bits then - surely the sale can't have moved that quickly?!

Unfortunately, stock does sell out really quickly on the 25% off days, so you have to be quick. I detoured to Sainsbury on my way to work to buy the items I wanted. Luckily, they had my items in stock.

I had quite a long day out yesterday, hospital appointment in big city, which means passing through nearest town with a Sainsbugs (15 miles away) we stopped off at said SM for fuel and a helping of fish and chips each, when OH asked if there was anything I wanted from store I declined, being too tired. When I arrived home I saw the post about 25% discount:( Oh well I will think of the money I saved:rotfl:

LL- I bought the Silicol gel on Wednesday, wow what marvellous stuff, I got a 5 hour sleep Wed and a full 8 hours last night, first time for over a year, if I can regularly have a good night's sleep I think that I might well start to feel so much better - fingers are crossed:D

Ruby - so pleased about your night out, you deserved a great time. I hope that you managed to make that appointment and that the doctor is helpful.

Apologies for not mentioning anyone else by name.:(

Brilliant to hear you got a full night's sleep Maddie. That's probably the best beauty treatment ever!

I hope I'll be lucky in my local Sainsbury's after the reports of selling out.:(

Delighted you had a good night with your friends ruby. You mustn't leave it so long before the next time and next time go for more than a couple of hours. How much longer before the boys can go to childcare for you to get back into the world of work for a few hours? Hope one benefit of Friday is motivating you to up the fabbing.:)

I spent a long time pampering this morning, keeping up all the routines. Finished a Clarins footcream which was OK but wouldn't buy again (didn't buy this one as it came in a gift pack). For the time being I'm going to use up a rich (but rather sticky) body lotion.

Dress worked out well last night. I'm dancing again tonight and another dress is planned.:)
  • Good morning lovely ladies....

Ruby - so glad you had a good time. And the job offers sound great too. It's always nice to know that people rate you highly and are Happy to employ you, even if you are not actively job hunting at the momen.

Re baby bed times......try not to worry, it all sorts itself out in the end. Not all babies are the same, some sleep more than others.

The one thing I learned is that even babies pick up on stress so we tried not to get too hung up over bed time routines. If we kept a relaxed and calm atmosphere we got on better.

In the summer with light evenings getting them to bed early was impossible so we just adopted a more Mediterranean approach, they stayed up with us and then had a siesta during the day. Then when the evenings drew in bedtime became earlier again.

We found that by the time they went to full time school they were happy to go to bed at around 7.30. TBH I wouldn't have wanted them to go to bed any earlier because my husband wouldnt have seen them at all during the week if they had gone to bed at 6pm. He worked long hours and only saw them for an hour or so as it was. Any earlier and they would all have missed out on quality time together.

I don't think there are set rules. There's no one size fits all, parenting seems to be trial and error. You just work out what suits you best and go from there.

Maddie.....glad the silicol gel worked so well for you. I find I don't need it all the time, just when I have a flare up. A week or so usually does the trick.

Had a bit of a melancholy day yesterday. Found myself thinking a lot about my father and had to "process" some "emotional stuff". Not pleasant but I feel much better today. I feel I can draw a line now and move on.

FIlthy day here, thankfully I don't have to go out. :rotfl: I'm going to do a bit of kondoing and sorting out. DS1 and DIL will be joining us for supper tonight so a nice day and evening ahead.

    Hair appt tomorrow.

Thanks for the heads up on Sainsbugs 25 per cent. I dont actually need anything at the moment so I might not bother this time.
  • Hello Ladies,

Ruby, I had to do the grievance so that the management would finally acknowledge and deal with all the issues. I am waiting for the minutes and the outcomes in writing.

With regards to getting a baby or small child to sleep, I let my own 4 children when they were babies keep to their own personal sleep patterns. It was only my daughter who is now 24, that always woke up in the night and wanted to play. She simply needed less sleep, but never woke up grumpy, she was always in a playful mood. My oldest daughter went to sleep through the night for the 1st time when she was 6 weeks old, my oldest son at 2 weeks, my younger daughter was about 12 weeks and my youngest son was about 8 weeks. They were all breast fed exclusively and they were all weaned onto solid food long before the recommended 4 months. I am of Caribbean heritage, both of my parents having been born in Montserrat. At times, I followed what my instinct told me was best for each of my children rather than what my health visitor was telling me. My oldest daughter came out of the womb sleeping for up to 8 hours. I did not follow the health visitor's advice of waking her up after 4 hours to feed and change her. My oldest son arrived with a humongous appetite which could only be satisfied with solid food to supplement his constant breast feeding, so he had his first taste of solid food at only 2 weeks old and loved it. They all started life sleeping next to me in my own bed, which made breast feeding them in the night really easy. Once they were sleeping through the night I moved them into a carrycot, then when they outgrew the carrycot, to a cot and finally to a single bed.

Ruby could you make a note of what suits each of your twin boys when you are doing their bed time routine. They are individuals and you need to do what works best for each of them. Once they have a bed time routine established and they are able to put themselves to sleep, life will finally become much more enjoyable for you. If your boys are guaranteed to be asleep by 6.30pm to 7pm each night, then you will have time in every evening for 'me' time and to spend time with your husband trying to reestablish your relationship with him.

What worked for mine, was evening meal, followed by bath. Then a cuddle followed by singing nursery rhymes and/or a book read aloud as they fell asleep lying in their cot or bed and left to sleep.

I went to see a play called The Bucket List at The Battersea Arts Centre with my daughter and we were totally engrossed. The play moved me to both tears and to laughter. It covered so many issues to do with NAFTA, which is the North American Free Trade Agreement. It educated me as well as entertained me. I came home and used the internet to continue my education on how NAFTA had adversely affected the people and the environment of Mexico.

I layered my perfume with the matching body powder and the body lotion. I did not wear any make up. I wore my purple velour Marks and Spencer skirt, a black sleeveless cowl neck Monsoon top with my purple kaliko cardigan. I wore a solid silver chain with a Purple sandstone heart pendant with the matching earrings, my Ingersoll stainless steel and diamond watch and a solid silver and single stone diamonique ring.

I went to Karaoke last night and I made a real effort with my clothing and with my make up. I had a really fun evening and I really enjoyed myself. As I was not working I could get there early. I had on perfume, layered with the matching body powder and body lotion. I had on black mascara, navy blue eye liner and navy blue eye shadow with clear lip gloss and clear nail polish. I wore my Marks and Spencer Per Una silver taffeta skirt, my navy velour and silver Kaleidoscope halter neck top with my Navy and silver Kaleidoscope jacket. I wore solid silver earrings with navy sandstone stars, a silver and navy stones on stainless steel crystal bracelet, my Ingergsoll diamond and stainless steel watch, a solid silver ring with platinum plating and a 3 baguette cut diamonique stones and a solid silver chain with a spiral crystal pendant. I wore my navy blue leather sling back Van Dal shoes and was carrying my small navy and silver evening bag. I wore my Navy blue and white raincoat. I sang four songs and done so much dancing that my legs were already aching on my way home.

    Hello Ladies

Had my Decleor facial yesterday and it was absolutely wonderful - 1 hour 15 minutes of pure pampering :j

It started with a mini back, neck & shoulder massage (all their facials do apparently), then I had the 'Harmonie Calm' facial and while the mask was on I also got a hand massage too - definitely well worth the £48.00 - I have already booked the next one for 8 weeks time :)

Hoping to do a proper home manicure over the weekend - seem to have been too busy lately to spend time keeping my hands & nails 'up-to-scratch' (no pun intended ;))

Glad you enjoyed your evening out Ruby - you should try and do it a bit more often and the OH will get more used to looking after the boys.

Maman - please let me know how you get on with the brow powder - I use a soft brown No. 7 pencil as I did rather over-pluck my eyebrows when I was younger

Have been on the 'Kettlewell Colours' website (via 'Colour me Beautiful') and did the colour quiz - it told me that I was an 'Autumn' which is very much what I expected as I love browns, dark oranges, dark reds and moss greens - interestingly it told me I should only wear blues that have green in them i.e. teal, aquamarine etc. - I do have quite a few Royal blue tops as I love the colour but my OH does tell me that the colour doesn't suit me that well when I wear it so maybe he is a good judge after all ;)

Sun is shining here after two days of virtually non-stop rain - definitely feels like Spring is on it's way at last :T

Sukeyboo don't get rid of the colours that don't suit you but you really like just wear a scarf in your colours maybe a print with the royal blue with your colours to blend in. That's what my colour me beautiful lady told me.

Ok ladies.......sorry but I really need a rant.

It's all woe is me today.

Have you ever felt truly cheesed off and just fed up to the back teeth with everything .......that you are banging your head against a brick wall, that the gods are conspiring against you and that you just can't be bothered with anything or anyone.

As my dear Aunty S used to say "I am so out of sorts I could pick a fight with myself".

I have just felt so low these last couple of days, maybe the grim weather and grey skies haven't helped, but I am just so fed up with dealing with emotional "stuff".

My sister is still being prickly and awkward and I have had enough......the fall out from dad's death really is the last straw.

I had a Terrible night again and today I feel sore, stiff and absolutely drained and exhausted. I was due to have my hair done but had to cancel, the thought of those awful backwash basins on my poor neck is more than I can bear this morning and I just can't face the thought of my head being touched or pulled about.

Please give me a much needed kick up the derrière.......but please Be gentle.:rotfl:

The sun is trying to come out. Cue to drag myself off the sofa, get dressed and go for a walk. Maybe some fresh air will help.

I'll come back later when I am in a sweeter frame of mind.

Sending ((((hugs)))) Leasonslearned. I think you need hugs, gentle ones, more than a kick up the backside. Not sure why your sister is being prickly but just ignore her behaviour, if it's because you decided not to do the paperwork for your father's estate suggests she does it instead of the solicitor. You need a break from all of that and to look after yourself, perhaps someone else could point out to her just how much you have been through over the last four years. Take care, xx

I agree with Tigger. Lessonlearned you just need a hug not a kick up the behind. Be kind to yourself.
