Will have to google how to do butterfly legs. :rotfl:

They’re easier than breaststroke legs you just put your legs together and bend from the knees as you kick up and down - so it’s like a hinged kick that a mermaid does, does that make sense? Probably easier to watch on YouTube than describe!!! Can you tell that I spent years in a pool squad training? :rotfl:

Tigger, thanks for that. Yes, it makes sense. I think I can picture it but yes I will google.

Only just got up, had a dreadful night, was still awake at 4.30. I think I need to rethink my nighttime routine and develop better sleep patterns.

So......through the day less caffeine and less technology. More fresh air and more exercise. Definitely no computer after about 7 pm.

And try and switch off that brain of mine sometimes, just switch off and wind down. :rotfl:

    Hello Ladies,

I had a good, enjoyable evening at Karaoke last night, even though I was in a lot of pain. I took 4 painkillers, but my right knee was still incredibly painful. I had to lean against the back of a bar stool when I was singing my songs and I could not stand up and dance, because when I tried, the pain became even more acute, which I had not thought was possible. When I got home, I put some Ibuprofen Gel on the knee and the pain was much less and bearable within 30 minutes.

The knee is still painful today and I am still using the Ibuprofen Gel to manage the pain.

I got a decision from Lambeth Council and they say that the original decision was correct, as the lump sum pension payment has to be considered as 'unearned income' not capital. I checked with HMRC and they told me that lump sum pension payments are considered 'unearned income' by them.

Sorry to hear about the Lambeth decision, SUgarbaby. But tbh it doesn’t surprise me.

I had a similar issue with a lump sum pension payment with HMRC so it doesn’t surprise me that other government bodies take the same view and class it as unearned income.

Re the knee, have you tried tiger balm. The red one is the strongest. I find it pretty effective.

    Hello Ladies,

I may not have had the response I would have liked from Lambeth Council, but that is not the end of the matter. I intend to ask for the decision to be looked at again. :( Lambeth Council provided no evidence for the reason for the fact that just because HMRC refers to the funds for taxation purposes as 'unearned income' it does not then follow that for Benefit purposes, it becomes 'unearned income'. I am just waiting for my employers to send me my 2 payslips that are missing, that will be absolute, irrefutable proof that I was not paid any salary for those months and I did not receive Statutory Sick Pay either. The issue of me having no earned income for those 2 months was completely overlooked in the revised decision. It was almost as if my dispute form and my letter were not even read and my supporting evidence for each point that I had asked to be considered was given no more than a cursory glance. :p I have to find out what has happened to all of my original supporting documents as they have not been returned to me. :(

My knee is so much better today, but LL thank you for the tip about Tiger Balm. I have never tried it before. I am using Ibuprofen Gel and that has done the trick. I did not have any in my handbag on Tuesday evening, so I have remedied that oversight of mine. :)

Good luck with your ongoing campaign with Lambeth council sugarbaby. I can certainly see your point about needing to draw down from the pension when you had no income. Even the HMRC 'unearned income' argument seems ridiculous to me. We're encouraged to pay into pensions and then along comes the taxman and grabs some back!

I'm a fan of ibubrofen gel too although I will look into Tiger Balm. I think it's good that it gets straight to the pain (I used it for the inflamed tendon in my wrist), far quicker than pills.

Really pleased today in that I've lost 2.5lbs and got back to my target weight that I've not seen since my holiday back in June/July!:D I'm going to keep being sensible though as I'd like to build in some leeway before my next break next month.

I'm pleased with my fabbing routines at the moment. Particularly that I've managed to cream my feet every day for over 2 weeks!

We've been out today: first to a great Kaffe Fassett exhibition at a local NT property and then for lunch with friends. The textiles were lovely, some fantastic patchwork particularly. What struck me was how some very old crafts like patchwork, needlepoint and knitting had been give a modern twist so that they didn't look old fashioned at all. It's made me feel quite creative.:)

Weather is a bit odd here still. It's dull and we've had some rain but it's really mild for the time of year. For smart casual my long sleeved red Reiss top is getting a lot of wear with either black or dark denim jeans. It's not really cold enough for a jumper and the stretchy fabric is just a little heavier than a shirt, blouse.

    Have a good evening all.:)

    Hello lovely ladies...

Miserable day here so I have put the time to good use and have been doing some touching up of paintwork today. We have emptied the fish tank that stood in the dining room and said goodbye to my husbands last two remaining fish. :rotfl:

I have bought a new unit to go in the alcove which will House table linens, glassware etc. So should be very useful.

I have had some tummy problems today, probably because I’m overtired so hopefully a nice restful evening and maybe an early night will sort me out.

Have heard from J1 (he’s nothing if not persistent) but so far not J2. Wrong way round really. Typical. :rotfl:

Physio booked for tomorrow. And will call into the gym and see about booking my free session with a personal trainer.

Well done getting back to target Maman. Bet that makes you feel better. Lost another 0.4 lbs so feeling positive. It’s moving in the right direction, slow but sure.

Time to cook dinner. Mediterranean vegetables and fish.

It's uncanny but we've had the same menu as you twice this week! We had chicken stir fry the other day and then we had Mediterranean veg another night although with chicken not fish.

Fingers crossed you get to hear from J2.:)

Hello ladies, hope everyone is having a fab Friday :)

I went to the hairdressers yesterday, my hair is so thick with a slight wave that it wasn't hold the style well that I wanted so with some thinning and few adjustments it now looks much better. He is so good and I have been going to him for years, lord knows what I will do if he ever decides to retire!

Agree about the weather Maman it's too warm for any jumpers, even the lightest ones, so have mostly been wearing long sleeved Bretons with jeans, I did put suede boots on yesterday when I went into Cambridge but my feet were quite warm with socks as well. Talking of which I have been looking around for some new yard boots to keep my feet toasty during the winter months and have settled on a brand called Muck boots, they are lined with neoprene and the big plus is that you can ride in them too :j so no cold feet whilst you change over.
Other than that no major purchases, my niece is on holiday in the Bahamas so won't get my facial until she is back, I did take advantage of the 3 for 2 on no7 products to stock up on night cream and serum, I had a quick look around Debenhams but nothing inspired me to open my purse,
I do have a painful elbow at the moment and have been using Ibuleve on it but will pick up some Tiger Balm, thanks for the idea LL.

    Love to all x
