Good morning!
I've just read through this thread and think it would do me good to join in rather than lurk all the time if that's ok!
I have made a decision to stop accumulating ' stuff ' this year and actually use and enjoy some of the vast amounts I've already got.
To that end alone I think this thread will help - I feel more inspired if I read what others achieve!
I am going to stop buying cleaning products and have a go at making my own using recipes I have found around the web.
Ditto for reed diffusers - I already have loads of essential oils I can use up and experiment with.
I also plan to wear the clothes I have and not buy any more this year - which will be a big challenge as I need to minimise myself a bit to fit into quite a lot of them.
I have estimated that if I live to be 297 ish I will use up a fair amount of my craft stash, so I'd better not add to that either! I've already sent tons to charity to be used to raise funds, so I must use the rest up, if only to stop beating myself up about it all!!
Mending today will be sewing up 3 dog toys - it's a losing battle, but I refuse to be beaten.0 -
Afternoon
Just finished a wee shift for 2nd job and heading towards usual job. Was thinking about buying some lunch en route but I'm pretty sure there's a cup-a-soup and some crackers in my desk drawer so will save my cash and have those. I'll get my tea at work later so that stretches out my food supplies.
Shampoo seemed to be running low this morning so I'll cut the top off and get another few washes out of it. I certainly won't need to buy any toiletries anytime soon - am well stocked up from christmas presents.
Not much else to report - I'm still full of the cold so trying not to tire myself out too much.Mortgage 26.4.25 - £108,500 1.8.25 - £106,362.86

Ditto Disflop
So far today I have minimized the last of the marzipan trimmings left over from decorating my Christmas cake by eating them - which has done nothing towards minimizing me!
Made do with my store cupboard carton of milk so as not to go into the shop and buy more fresh, where I would undoubtedly have bought something else as well.
Mended - nothing yet but have a pile of it in my craft room waiting for me, so am going to put on the fire, fetch it downstairs and get on with it while I watch TV (a treat as I don't usually turn it on during the day but it's grey cold and miserable so I want to feel cosy)SavePeople Say that life's the thing - but I prefer reading

Finally did some mending- attached the pompom onto my hat and also DH changed another lightbulb.
Made do with food and avoided supermarket for another day.
Minimised more stuff and the house is tidied.0 -
Mending. I have buttons to sew on my P.J,s and a hook on my bra. I shall do that whilst watching t.v tonight.
Making do with home made chicken curry from freezer tonight.
Minimising, none I'm afraid.
Disflop, I want to do the the same myself and not buy any new clothes for the year. I have nothing important to go to.....as far as I know. So apart from probably underwear I really have no need to buy.
Good luck to you , hope you do well.
It's blooming freezing here again. My walk with the dogs along the quay was freezing but good. Hopefully making up for all the food I keep overeating on.0 -
Well a potential mend. Just before xmas bf tore his nice feather filled puffer jacket on a nail on my gate.
So purchased a sample of rip stock nylon from e-bay for 99p and hope with the use of fabric glue to fix it.
Will let you know if I manage it.
Also got some shrunk wrapped salmon in the freezer out of date by at least 6 months. Not sure if I should minimise in my tummy or the bin.
Right need to get back on the groove of my cross stitch.

Calleyw, wouldn't the fish be ok if it's in the freezer then? Have to admit I'd defrost it, smell and eat it if it smelled ok. Or am I being stupid?0

Calley was it fresh, then frozen? If so it should be fine. I'm having sweet chilli sauce on a salmon fillet tonight which was YS on 8 June last year and went straight into the freezer2021 Decluttering Awards: ⭐⭐🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇 2022 Decluttering Awards: 🥇
