You’re so nearly there - dig deep for those last few days.

Brilliant that your DD has got a job lined up already. There doesn’t seem to be much in the line of work for teenagers around our area. When something does come up, everyone is racing to get an application in and it closes shortly within a day or two.

Same where I live. Even 16-17yos struggle to find simething, places prefer 18+ due to no restrictions on when they work or what they can sell.

Thank you Spendless and Dakota Rose.

Made it to the holidays! I had time to take a more lesuirely walk and went to the allotment and battled the huge weeds to find the rhubarb I’d planted last year. I harvested 3 or 4 stems and brought them back home and made a rhubarb, saffron and honey tart. A new one on me but the colour of the custard part was beautiful, thanks to the saffron infusion and it was good to be eating something that we’d grown an ingredient for.

2 NSDs this week which is much better!

Well done to your DD - I'm amazed we are at that stage already.

The rhubarb sounds super: mine has really suffered in this dry weather. On the other hand, weeds can't grow as fast, either. Enjoy your summer (and a very good idea to keep regular debt repayments up, or perhaps to split that between repayments and savings or your EF).

    Thank you Willowtree222 and Cherryfudge.

Seem to have been hit by a bug of some description and have spent the last 2 days in bed. The silver lining is that the NSDs are building up!

Ahhh I can explain that. You will have been running on adrenaline with Job1 and Job2 for the last few weeks. Suddenly you dont have to go to Job1 and its like youve been driving at speed when a brick wall suddenly appears from nowhere, you have no option but to crash into it because youve not had the chance to slow gradually

A hospital consultant told my DH that when he had Cancer (caught early and removed successfully). He took the min recommended time off work and then about 8 months later we booked a mini break with kids and my Nan. He managed 1 full day away before he was hit by a virus that knocked him out and spent the rest of the hol in bed. When he mentioned it to his consultant at his next check up, that's when the above got described to him.

    Hope you feel better soon.

Bummer 😞 the good news, alongside the NSDs of course, is that you’ll have it out of the way at the start and can then focus on enjoying yourself!

Oh dear - does it help to think of it as banking some rest so you can make the most of the weeks ahead?
