I empathize re ex...it is very wearing.
I do hope you will demonstrate that the debt clearing is all from you as I think you said he doesn't contribute...insert murderous thoughts. He shouldn't benefit. from your hard labour.
On a peaceful note, I thought cerinthe was perennial? Thanks to you I bought some last year and really like it
Do you have a greenhouse or a cold frame. Or both!6 -
Thank you Cherryfudge &Janb5
Cherryfudge- I agree, the scent of sweet peas is wonderful and reminds you of summer.
Janb5 - You’re right, cerinthe is listed as a perennial, in milder areas. I haven’t managed to keep it going as a perennial yet, even though where I live is usually quite mild. I’m hoping that some may have self seeded in the bed at the allotment 😉. I have a greenhouse at the allotment, so I tend to start seedlings off at home, then move them to the allotment greenhouse before planting them out in raised beds.
Forgot to add yesterday that I have baby rhubarb plants emerging. I sowed some rhubarb seeds last Spring and had repotted the seedlings into 3cm pots and kept them in a sheltered spot in the garden. One job for this week will be to find a spot at the allotment for them and get them planted out. I won’t be able to harvest from them this year but hopefully next Spring I should be able to🙂.
I can hear the blackbirds singing outside the window, it’s starting to get light and yesterday’s headache has gone - much to be thankful for! Have a good Sunday everyone!paydbx2025 #26 £890/£5000 . Mortgage start £148k June 23 - now £138k.

Oh good grief HSL. I did think of suggesting you got yourself a safe in the house, a good one that attaches to an outside wall to put private items in, a few posts back when you mentioned the reason you don't always open post, but didn't want to make any suggestions that antagonised the situation further. Yes, I do wonder too if any boundaries will be respected re visiting the house even once a divorce is finalised.
Glad the spring plants and nature are lifting your spirits though,7 -
Your ex is just completely unbelievable. Whatever he can do to keep control - no matter how small.

I suppose the only plus of the divorce dragging on and on is that by the time a decision needs to be made on the house some more of the kids might have turned 18 and therefore can no longer be classed as dependants.Debt free Feb 2021 🎉6

Thanks for answering my nosy question, I was also concerned that if you remain in the house, even though legally yours he will just let himself in and not care.
If you move I assume he won't see the children in your new home, I'd want it as a safe haven which he doesn't step over the threshold of.6 -

Thank you Spendless, CCL, DAL & EE.
EE - Yes, if I had to move, I’m working on the principle that he will see the children elsewhere. I guess that for the adult children, it’s up to them when, where and how often they see the ex?
DAL - Yes I think technically I have 3 less dependents though they live here.
Today has been quite relaxed. My lovely parents sent me an early birthday present - a copy of The Salt Path, a book I’ve been keen to read since I heard of it ( I think) on OBL’s diary. Looking forward to reading it🙂.
We did get out for a walk, a shorter one because the elderly lurcher joined us. We saw a cherry tree that is beginning to blossom. You can tell we’ve had less rain, as DS3 was fascinated by the cracks in the soil.

That's a lovely pic.
With regards the mortgage do you know what counts as a dependant? I'm wondering if it's until 18 or if it's if they are still in further education but not higher (so sixth form but not uni)? I believe your 4th one might be yr12. I only think this because I have a 3 year gap between my 2and your older half seem to sit either side of them in school years. We don't have any that match in age, but if you've posted about them getting to a particular educational point, it's always seemed to be the year before or year after I go through the same thing. I'm just wondering at what point you'd be deemed as having an 'acceptable' (for the mortgage) amount of dependants? Not sure where you could find this out though in advance.
Yes, the adult children will be able to make their own mind up about seeing their Dad.4
