Great news on the savings bond money. Really pleased it's enable you to build up the EF again and that you're only looking at about 6 weeks before window loan1 is paid off. I always find it strange how people can go through financially tough times then different sources come in close together. Happened to us this week too, DH told he's getting a bonus, the following day a payment from the tax man for overpaid tax. Money attracts money it seems. Fingers crossed that the saying 'it comes in 3s' happens to you too.
P, S - your reply saying glad I only have the 5 to home school made me smile, since I'm mightily relieved I don't have to do 2 -lol4 -

Thank you Sashybo, SH, Cherryfudge, Spendless, Janb5, Sarahwithlove, OBL & Lucielle. I’m very thankful to have the money in an EF that is accessible.
Yesterday was a lazy day which turned out to be fairly productive in the end. I have a feature on my current account that rounds up the amount, when making purchases by debit card and puts the rounded up amount into a savings account. I also pay £15 a month into this savings account and have it earmarked for anything house related. As I was checking account balances, I realised there was enough for some paint, so have ordered that, so I can start freshening up areas of the house🙂. I did pay a little extra for delivery since to click and collect or buy in person would necessitate a 30 mile round trip to a town that is currently a local Covid hotspot.
I spent some time trying to get tile adhesive off the bathroom wall so that is can re tile the walls. It is certainly tough stuff to shift. I used a steamer as well as a scrubbing brush with the hottest water I could stand but it is slow progress.
We got out for a walk yesterday, just a 2 mile loop as we didn’t have enough daylight for a longer walk. Part of the walk takes us across a huge field, from which we can look over a little wooded valley and to fields on the opposite side. There isn’t a lot of livestock out at the moment, a few hardy sheep in one field, but everywhere else is empty at the moment. I love the patchwork effect of the fields. Some are varying shades of green, some have been ploughed or spread with so much muck they are brown with the dark green of the hedgerows clearly defining the shape of each field. Last night it was dusk as we were walking back home. We stopped and looked up at the gnarled branches of a tree in the hedgerow and marvelled at the shapes the branches made as we looked up against the background of the sky. Many of the trees close by look as if they have been slightly blown over to one side. It really does look as if they have weathered many a gale, which I’m sure they have but it’s the effect of the salt wind from the sea burning one side compared to the other which gives the appearance of seeming to have blown over. The inland side flourishes more than the seaward side. It makes for some interesting shaped trees! The blackbirds were in fine song as we made our way home in the very last vestiges of light.paydbx2024 #2 £480/£5000 . Mortgage £144k start ~ £148k Jun 23 -
