Thank you Cherryfudge. Unfortunately although I tried to repair it, my car has 2 types of part for this particular repair. The part I had bought wasn't the right one, so only £10 wasted. The necessary part is over £90:eek:. I had budgeted £70 for the whole job but it looks to be much more:(. It makes sense as to why I couldn't see how the part I'd bought, should fit.
I have cracked on with a fair amount of work tasks but still need to get more done. I did give in and flop in front of "The Good Life" for a bit of relaxation. Half of the children are out tonight at grandparents, or at party type sleepovers so it has been very quiet this evening with so few:cool:. Very odd!paydbx2025 #26 £890/£5000 . I love 'The Good Life'! Absolute classic, and a lovely way to wind down on a quiet evening.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

I got the car back from the garage and it is fixed :T:T:T:. I am so thankful for people who know what they are doing! My door works, my window doesn't slide down as I'm going along... much to be thankful for
:j.
I had an appointment for an ECG today which had scared me a bit if I'm honest. It was all fine but the doctor has found out why I've been feeling so tired and dizzy...not enough iron . I'm now armed with tablets to recitify the problem. I didn't realise how worried I'd been about it all until the doctor told me that. I feel relieved and very thankful for our NHS and doctors who take time to wade through test results and solve the problem:):j
Moneywise the car repair has cost me more than I'd hoped or budgeted for but the benefit of staying warm and dry as one drives around is worth the expense of repair. Payday is tomorrow so I have to budget carefully.paydbx2025 #26 £890/£5000 . Mortgage start £148k June 23 - now £138k.

Good news all round then
. Well, the extra cost of repairs aren't such a happy thought but it sounds as though it will make life easier for you, and it's great that there is a fairly straightforward solution to your tiredness and dizziness.

I got up at quite an early hour yesterday and went through my spending for May. It is quite interesting to see where the money goes. Food and diesel continue to be my biggest expenditures. I know some of it is to do with rising prices but am sure I could reduce the diesel cost by streamlining journeys and perhaps not taxiing so much.
Paid about £30 off a debt yesterday via direct debit. Everything else will come out on Monday. I went to visit my mum yesterday. We were trying to get things sorted out at my grandmother's house. Somehow it seems like part of the grieving process but not easy. We did a charity shop run. My mum had washed and ironed my grandmother's clothes, so took them in. I did collect seedheads of the aquilegia plants and of the wallflowers, although I think I might try a cutting or two. My grandmother's garden has a beautiful cottage garden bed with roses and hydrangeas making up the main structure and lots of perennials nestling in between that give lots of colour.
DD2 ran her 10k run yesterday evening. It's a stunning route mainly on the cliff path but quite a challenging terrain. She ran really well and achieved her personal best. :jDS3 did a good job of cheering her on as soon as we spotted her. We had a BBQ on the beach for tea.
I need to get ship shape at home today and finish off some work tasks in readiness for Monday. I always enjoy the May half term but find I fill the time with things that need to be done at home, that I wonder how there is ever enough time to go to work:rotfl:.paydbx2025 #26 £890/£5000 . I keep taking cuttings or lifting bulbs when I work on clearing Mum's house, too. There is something lovely about keeping their plants going: I have a Bleeding Heat Vine of Mum's which goes from strength to strength, and a primrose which was a gift from her best friend who died before I was born (or should I say, a descendent of the original). Those aquilegia will go on forever, won't they?! Someone was telling me that hydrangea cuttings are easier than I thought, too.
Well done to your DD for a fantastic run! I bet the cliff top route is exhilarating.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

That's lovely to be able to keep plants with such a story behind them
.
Insomnia strikes again . I've caught up on laundry and have uniforms vaguely ready! Today has been quite spendy in that I've paid the council tax, paid for new shoes for DD3 and a weekly shop. DD3 is in adult sizes now so shoes prices have increased accordingly.
I know I'm in for a busy week at work so am trying not to worry but just hope my energy levels last out. DD1 comes home for a weekend break bring her bf with her. I'm looking forward to seeing her but hope the bf can cope with being with all of us and the elderly lurcher, sensible spaniel and the 2 nutty/naughty puppies;).paydbx2025 #26 £890/£5000 . I ended up sleeping until 8.30 this morning:eek:. Better not do that tomorrow! I've reset all my alarms to make sure of an early start. I've felt really tired today but haven't stopped. I'm really hoping I have enough energy for this week.
I've made a couple of lemon drizzle cakes, a carrot cake and a batch of vanilla muffins. I think the boys have almost demolished the muffins  but am not making anymore tonight! Hoping to get an early night and a decent amount of sleep. Uniforms are all done and have got 3 loads done today.
The tomato plants are looking good at the allotment. Still need to get lots planted.paydbx2025 #26 £890/£5000 . Mortgage start £148k June 23 - now £138k.

Got through a week at work. I love the month of June but find it a little frustrating that May and June seem to be my busiest time at work, so I can't seem to get out as much as I'd like. Trying to keep my head down and plod through the tasks!
The cough goes on...unfortunately I've been coughing so much it's made me sick a few times this week, so I've been back to the doctors. I've now got two medicines to combat the cough which, hopefully with the iron tablets, will help me to get better.
Moneywise, The finances seem to be racing away. There just seem to be lots of expenses that keep cropping up. We have a wedding to attend at the end of the month, which we're looking forward to but I need to factor these into my budget. There's only so much money but it seems to need to cover more and more .paydbx2025 #26 £890/£5000 . Mortgage start £148k June 23 - now £138k.

Yesterday was frantically busy. I dropped DS1&2 off to a show, then went on to work to try and get some tasks completed. I was there for about 3 and a half hours, before going to the show ourselves. ( I had 3 children with me). The MSE part was that after a certain time, the tickets are half price, so I got in for less:). One stand at the show had an interesting cookbook about using vegetables and cooking seasonally. I asked about it and because I'm a regular existing customer, I was allowed the book for free:T. Very pleased about that!
We left at 6.30 ish, went to Mr T's to get ingredients to cook. DS1 hen wanted a lift so we had to retrace out steps to collect him. On our return I dropped off everyone else and drove DD1 and her bf to her favourite beach, then home again to eat something, help DS with his driving practice, then back to the beach to collect DD1 and bf. Some days I do feel like a taxi service
Money seems to be flying everywhere with D of E trips and field trips mounting up in the next couple of weeks. I also need to factor in the cost of getting DD home for the summer. Thankfully she has been able to rent a storage container with other student friends, so am hoping we will only need to bring home essentials and cooking things/ bedding can stay in the container.paydbx2025 #26 £890/£5000 .
