Bought Mr T gift voucher and sent to my'rescuers' from breakdown (horrid designs in store) with one of own cards.
Ready to start packing boxes- just need to clear a table space!!
Delivered 9 doggy duvets today to village PO and emptied the collecting box (last emptied Dec 18) --£95 in it. Also have about £70 in hand, so plan to visit groomers tomorrow and see what money they have, then pay it all in. Must be getting closer to £2k.:)Being polite and pleasant doesn't cost anything!

katie well done on your progress.
I’m back from Greece. The only presents I bought were for myself - 2 pairs of handmade sandals and gold jewellery. I also bought a Xmas tablecloth runner, which, to most people is crazy, but for us on this thread, makes perfect sense.0 -
s..t..i..l...l no word about the wretched dish washer. Not holding breath
On a positive note have sent £180 to Dogs for Good from doggy duvet sales.
Planning to start on boxes tomorrow. It's been too hot to venture into the loft to see if I have enough wrapping paper.
So, today bought 2 x rolls of 'my Little Pony' paper  well, all that they had @ 2 for £1. Well, they'll be different.
Have bobble busted the scarves. Think that's IT.Being polite and pleasant doesn't cost anything!

Still not much going on from me, still grounded post surgery.
Was very happy that my DIY tools came yesterday so finished box 5 last night. Very happy as that is 6 boxes completed.
Going to do box 7 for the elderly but not rushing. As I'm out of stock and having to buy things, if I see something I will get it but not going out specifically. Already bought things like toothbrushes and toothpaste from tesc@.
Katiehound that's a brilliant result for Dogs for Good.I don't know how u manage to make so many doggy duvets.
The 'little pony' paper made me smile. I bet they will look great
I supports a Cats Protection branch and they always want cuddlies for their tombolas. Managed to buy unicorns in Card f@ctory sale yesterday. They were mothers day ones, once u cut the hearts off with the mothers day message they will make for a great unicorn prize
Frustrating about the dishwasher. I would not be a happy bunny
Chanie I hope the holiday was good. Now the Xmas table runner it just has to be done. I bet it will look really lovely at Christmas. I love getting things like that on holiday, doesn't matter the time of year at all. Once a friend went to Amsterdam in June and brought me back some Christmas baubles, she had found a Christmas shop
When wrapping the link box last night I also wrapped a practical Christmas present for my DD-a food flask as she will be doing alot of travelling next year.
Finding the odd present now that I think would be ideal. Have a few ideas now, not many but keeping my ears open for anything she mentions.
Busy sorting out a new stairlift and carpet at the moment. It has to start to fail at the worst possible time, it never has been right but things are moving quickly to get organised sorted ready for a new one.Decluttering challenge 2023🏅⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Happy Kitties- bet you are feeling frustrated after your op, and stair lift deciding to do its thing!even more frustrating.
Today I did them all! I know the boxes don't have to have the same contents but it makes life easier. I got 4 large shopping bags and put one of each item in. Then packed each box, a much better way than before when I was scrabbling for items- did I put one in here?? etc.
I was amazed just how much rubbish there was from the packaging- the only things I left wrapped were the torches & calculators- thought that might be a bit of protection.
Luckily I had only selotaped the lids on. Whilst doing the family boxes I suddenly remembered I had made shopping bags for the elderly ones. They were still upstairs in my workroom- oh, and needed pressing as they were from curtains. Selotape duly cut, bags added, retaped.
Now all wrapped, labelled and duly ticked (how you are supposed to write extras on a dark purple patch I shall never know!) I stuck on white paper to write my additions. I have still got 2 large shopping bags full of stuff for next year!! Luckily including the wind-up torches because they sold out.
I was impressed with what I had found, especially bits from carboot sales.
Might try to see if there is a floor visible soon! The 4 sleeping bags are down to 3/4 of one- they were a great heap. However it is still so clammy, makes me feel lethargic- I just want to sit and read.
Off this coming week for short cruise. Hoping it has cooled down in Holland, Belgium & France!Being polite and pleasant doesn't cost anything!

katiehound how on earth u managed to do ur boxes in one go i don't know. That is just bonkers!
Picked up a couple of more bits for my last box today. I seem to be spending a fortune at the minute just on shopping. I really don't make a good patient and once I started to feel better I wanted to do things but have to rest up for 8 weeks and I have no idea what they plan to do when I go back into hospital in a couple of weeks. So limited to basic things at home and trips out to shops with DD.
I do find it can last about 2 hours and then I have to come home.
The stairlift hasn't been right and a headache for years.
When the OT was doing previous grant work I was supposed to have a new one then. However a very kind hearted gesture by the manufacturers meant that I couldn't have a new one. While it was a very kind gesture it was the worst possible thing they could have done and the damn thing has been a nightmare ever since. Have the OT coming out next week as priority and measuring has already been done.
To top it off it looks like the fridge/freezer is on the blink. Noticed with the ice cream that it wasn't frozen. It is in the worst possible location next to the oven.
I have an adapted kitchen and it was the only place they could put the fridge but it means the motor has to work extra hard. Have now put it to max which seems to be working but it looks to be struggling so I might have to order a new one first thing.this is going to be a costly month the way it is going
Enjoy your cruise Katiehound and hopefully it won't be too hot!Decluttering challenge 2023🏅⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

New fridge/freezer ordered.
Was hoping it would last but it is working overtime on maxso thought it was better to get it sorted now rather than it go bang full of food:eek:
Good job Christmas presents are sorted, I just seem to be spending money at the minute
On a good note I found a present for DD BF last night that I know he really wants and it was at a special discount price. Checked today and it has gone back up, almost doubled in price so finally have him sorted :TDecluttering challenge 2023🏅⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Now I think I need to start sorting for cruise!! up to loft- could be a tad cooler today, still 20.5 sitting here by sash windows.
Have a load of things for next year's boxes! Can't resist playing cards @20pence etc. Need to sort & pack them away (2 large Aldi bags +?) Please don't let anyone give me anything- now!!!
Went to car boot yesterday and got 3 x S and 1 x D duvet covers + 4 pillow cases all or £3- for the doggy duvets plus yet more paperbacks (4 for £1) so no lack of holiday reading. a couple of ukulele music books
I spent all Sat on those boxes, cream crackered!. but I shall do that method again. Buy all the stuff, divide into no of boxes, then pack. I would have left the wrapping up for later but thought 'Get in done!!'
Off to loft now, before I waste more time
Yesterday I finally managed to e-mail folk with 6 or 7 photos from my Indian trip- mainly tigers- it took me better part of 2 hours ! (and one friend got one photo repeated umpteen times- technology, don't you just love it??:p)Being polite and pleasant doesn't cost anything!

Hi everyone,
Thought I should get the party on this thread started again!!! I know its the summer and everyone is busy, though.
I bought another present today, a nightdress for MIL, as it the nightdress has two of her favourite things on it. That's one more person I can cross off the list and now that our holiday is over, I can get back to Xmas prepping.0 -
Back from cruise- was my very least liked! Mixed bag of weather, mixed ports too.Won't choose that ship again as it was fully full as summer hols and just too large (for me)
Interestingly there was a Dogs for Good dog & handler aboard- but only saw them very briefly with dog striding off into the crowds in middle of Antwerp on a Sat afternoon with a GayPride march due. One word: chaos.
Delivering 8 doggy duvets tomorrow so they have something to sell when classes start at dog training.
Due to deliver the shoeboxes on Thu
Needless to say dishwasher is still kaput! He says he will try to come on Sun... I am away from Mon. As usual won't hold breath!!Being polite and pleasant doesn't cost anything!
