happy kitties what about getting your mum something to remind her of her past? A cd of her favourite songs, a historical picture of the town she was born in?
Whilst we are on the subject of Mums, I have sorted my mums present - her favourite toiletries and a luggage tag. I saved £45 on the luggage tag through eBay.0 -
Chanie brilliant ideas, unfortunately already pinched by her brother every Christmas. He always does it now. He even went out of his way to go and get photos taken of where they grew up and turned it into a calender and also does the same with jigsaws for her.
I like the idea of what u have got for ur mum, I got some luggage tags with some comic designs of the area we live in 2 years ago now. Went down really well but cant do anything like that as my mum refuses to leave the house, hasn't done so for about 3/4 years now.
If I see a quirky thing I know she will really like i will get it and store away but haven't come across anything this year, not been so lucky. Any ideas greatly appreciated.Decluttering challenge 2023🏅⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I remember struggling with ideas for OHs nan when she was with us. She was in her 80s and sitting in front of the TV was all she could manage. Bless her. The highlight of her Xmas was her annual Cliff Richard calendar!
What about a reed defuser, blanket, or a novelty mug/plate that she could use?0 -
Chanie I just love the sound of the Cliff Richard calender, it brings back memories of a cousin who had to have a showaddywaddy calender every Christmas
Reed diffusers and candles DM is not allowed to have.
She has a few blankets and we bought her one of those blankets with the arms in a couple of years ago which surprisingly did go down well as she could knit with it. Shes not even knitting now. She can do it, just refuses to do things now (DM has always had a self destruct button and then expects family to pick up the pieces but now family have drifted/stay away carers were brought in) as I did think of knitting things until she gave me 2 big bags of wool
I would bet any money that with a novelty plate/mug would get given to the carers.
I've not even found anything quirky I know she would like.
I've done really well with birthday present prep this year (even if I'm late sending them!), but I've eaten half the Easter eggs I've bought and not doing well with mothers day......it can only get better.......I dont like the Easter eggs left!Decluttering challenge 2023🏅⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Managed to get presents sorted out for Mothers Day:T
I saw some nice planters at our local garden centre which I know my mum would have liked but just didnt have the time to go back to get one (couldn't have bought early and kept in the house as I have one cat that would have ripped the flower heads off and another that would have trashed any stalks left:eek:).
Went back to the garden centre as they have a farm shop aswell. Thought I would pick up a couple of my mums favourites from the farm shop that I know she would eat and just put with a big bunch of flowers.
However as i was going in a family were coming out holding this quirky goose planter (made with natural reed materials) with plant. I knew straight away she would love one. Took me awhile to find one but managed to get one plus foodstuffs:j. Popped to see my mum this afternoon and she was happy with the presents:)
I also saw a couple of things for her birthday so will pop back in a couple of weeks when DD is home so we can go for a meal there and pick up the items.
It was incredibly busy today and the queue for the restaurant was stupidly long but it has a very good reputation for good food.
Nothing much else going on. Have bought a few more things for my Christmas shoeboxes but still feel very behind.
Presents ready for the next round of birthdays.
Have decided that over Easter I'm going to get some Christmas presents wrapped:D esp as I could really be out of action pre and over ChristmasDecluttering challenge 2023🏅⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Well done for sorting out Mothers Day and that your mum enjoyed her presents.
I bought my mum some of her favourite toiletries and a groupon for afternoon tea in her favourite restaurant. I definitely think ‘tickets for something’ are the way to go for my Mum. She buys what she wants, so doesn’t need, or want stuff.0 -
I did an afternoon tea voucher for DD as part of her Christmas present, she loved it. I dont think you can go wrong with a present like that Chanie. Bet ur mum will really enjoy it. Couldn't do it for DM as she refuses to leave the house, it would get given to her main carer.
Also did it for DN at Christmas, sent it early in her Christmas card so she could have it while doing her Christmas shopping which she did!
When DD was home just after half term I had a voucher for afternoon tea at the garden centre. Too good to resist........we ended up bringing a goody box home there was so much. Thoroughly enjoyed it-it was my first ever afternoon tea!Decluttering challenge 2023🏅⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Another present bought today -a backpack for DN from Smiggle, as they are doing further reductions on their sale item. I saved £17 on the backback and was under my budget, so extra savings!!!!0

hi all, are you all ready for Easter?
I had rather too much drama during DS2's recent visit, mum getting told at doctors she had to have urgent hospital tests, but dad can't be left on his own. DS2 having a very bad seizure, I called ambulance but instead of him going to hospital ex husband went instead as he collapsed outside my house on Saturday.
I've got DS1 and his g/f arriving tonight and I'm nowhere near ready as I've been really busy this week with my own visit to the doctors and other things.
On the plus side, I mailed Easter cards/gave out, plus got some eggs for DS2 to take back with him (to group home) but I haven't got any for today's visitors but I can get them tomorrow or Saturday.0 -
angela I hope your loved ones are okay.
Happy Easter to everyone. I hope you all are enjoying the bank holiday weekend0
