So the assessment was at my home two weeks ago. It was quite quick and not too difficult. Nice lady performed assessment and had to do some physical tests (not hard) and show ID as to who I was and that was it. Got my letter today to say I've got enhanced level on both parts.

Well done! It seems that not everyone loses out in the transfer from DLA to PIP even though PIP is far more difficult to get.
As a matter of interest did you ask for a home visit?
I never got that far, the decision to refuse PIP was based entirely on what was on the claim form with no assessment despite previously having High Mobility/Middle Care DLA.

someone said on a forum not connected to this site the other day that they now have the ability to let you fill in a form online, (typing) and then print off and send back, maybe call explaining your difficulties and see if they can accommodate you ?
Fot anyone else in a similar position :
You can email DCPUALTERNATIVE.FORMATTEAM@DWP.GSI.GOV.UK - they will email you an editable PDF of the form - which you then need to print off and post to the normal address..

Since when has that option for PIP been available? There is no mention on any of the documents that I have seen.

Seems to me this sort of information is only available to those in the know, much like the fact that you have a right to request a home visit or request a change of venue if it will be difficult to get to the one they choose for you, but no one ever tells you.

Pleased to hear it, now just ignore the posts following this one, its none of his business.
Its not that we have more patience as we grow older, its just that we're too tired to care about all the pointless drama ;)

Thank you brown.
It may well be none of my business but it surely is of interest to the thousands that are claiming PIP?
How many know that you can get a re-writable PDF of the PIP2 form and how to ask for it?
How many know that they have the option of a home assessment?
How many know that you can change the PIP assessment venue if it is inconvenient and how to go about doing it?

Seems that the info would help a lot of claimants.

I'm not saying anything, I was asking you to give comments on my question - quite simple really

I didn't know so I presume there maybe 1000's of others out there that don't know either.
You forgot the PDF version of the PIP2 is that really available?
