Damn! We have so many BA Avios that I thought switching the them Avios would give us more scope to fly from our local airport, Manchester.

BA used to be good from there. Not for years!

You can use them on Flybe out of Manchester.

I think Gotenburg, Bremen, Madrid (Iberia) and Dublin (AER Fungus) are other options. The first two utilising Reward Flight Saver.

There are strong rumours that they'll be BA Cityflyer weekend flights from BHX and MAN for summer starting in May, an announcement is rumoured for mid January, be ready to redeem those avios.

Vueling is also likely to join avios.

That's something. We accrued loads when we flew to Tampa regularly, when they gave decent air miles in economy.

Did use some on their Black Friday boost, part cash part Avios, fir Philadelphia at end of this month.

I only managed to find a reward flight once using Avios with Flybe from our local airport, so for me this change will make little difference.

I see you can now use Avios to book Aer Lingus flights online from Ireland to the US and Canada, although the taxes has risen.

We have just come back from a trip to New York flying AL Dub to NY, booked through BA.

We find trips to the US from Dublin with Aer Lingus is the best use of our rapidly dwindling supply of Avios , as well as European flights capped st £35 RFS.

Now that Monarch have gone one more reason not to collect Avios.

To use for a fight to Europe ( Malaga, Dalaman & Gibraltar) is an absolute joke if you live north of Watford Gap.

Another reason not to use London Airways

If you are getting them for next to nothing then there is still plenty of value to be had. It's a changing scene but I think there will be new opportunities opening as others close

Monarch redemptions were always bloody awful value anyway.
