Thanks!
I'm confused...do you want to try out the 'in a row' challenge too?Going to give this a try for the new year.
Aiming for 15...
The number of working days for me this month.
For Jan I'm going to exclude the £1.05 that I spend on a jacket potato from the canteen each day, I'm not a sandwich fan and haven't got time this month to think about alternatives.
Home made soup heated up in the microwave/kept in a thermos?
I'm a big fan of hm soup.Nargleblast wrote: »And they keep on coming.....marmite! Make that two bog rolls to write down all the names!
Welcome, everyone, and happy New Year!
Hubert has eaten all the bog roll in a desperate attempt to.....well,I just don't know...who understands the workings of Hubert's brain...?
Yes,we're back to torn up newspaper again.0 -
Nargle I want a word with you.I turn my back for 5 seconds and you let the floodgates open....plus I was halfway through adding the names and I lost my post.
Nah,I'm joking of course...(not about losing the posts though)
Welcome to the fabbiest, most splendiferous challenge on ze planet,ja!!!! :j:j:j:j:j
Yes,indeed.Oh happy day,oh glory be.Ennessdee Towers is the place to be,the party continues and we are ready to sally forth and capture lots of lovely nsds!
The first day of the year and we are ready to,er,be more careful with our hard earned cash.Moth cultivation in other words.
Welcome to all the wondrous newbies!:money::T
Remember:the only rule about nsds is that there are no rules. You decide how it works.
One:For example,my rules are as follows,ie what doesn't count as an nsd:
- all bills, direct debits, rent etc (these are essential payments)
- travel ie taking the bus (as I have a yearly travelcard)
-all prescriptions (as essential)
- going to the cinema or swimming or gym (subscription for each)
-budgeted spends ie any food spends if within grocery budget limits for the week.
Two:You might not agree with some of my 'rules' but tough;they're my rules, not yours...
Three:Then there's the question of allowed spends. An allowed spend will let you purchase the object required, but only that object, meaning that you can still claim an nsd.
Could be bread,petrol,bananas,toothpaste.
Four:Emergency spends:for example,if I ran out of loo roll,I would count buying some as an emergency spend, and that spend wouldn't count.
Anyway, just a few ideas to get you thinking about your rules.
Okay people: let's do it!!!!!!0 -
I need to lie down now.
BTW,please keep an eye on the front page and make sure I've correctly updated your number.0 -
Hi there,
I haven't joined in here for a few years...I was so good at counting NSDs then and I need to do it again!
So can you put me down for 12 please for Jan....will start off gently:D
Thank you:beer:I really need to sort out a new signature!0 -
Just a brief background to the crazy world of Ennessdee Towers.
Nargleblast is the Lady of the Manor. She is a tad eccentric, favouring Spongebob wellies to ordinary footwear and has a pack of narglehounds who can be trusted to hunt down any elusive nsds.
Igor is our cunning chef.He is a bit short and dumpy and has a limp, but cooks delightful meals which will cause your teeth to disintegrate and your stomach to whimper. We still have leftover sprouts curry and pilchard margaritas for anyone who is peckish...Please do not insult him though,or his cooking,as he has a wondrous set of chef's knives on his person.
Swedish Chef, yes, him, keeps a tight ship and makes the odd appearance, with his blunderboos or axe...again,please do not upset him.
Hubert is a large donkey, prone to toilet accidents (hence the large nappy),but very eager and just a tad stupid. He also likes wearing high heels, lippy and pretty dresses and earns his keep as the resident lawnmower.
Mrs Doyle (yes, from 'Father Ted') is our housekeeper and keeps us tea happy.Coffee is not allowed, but if you're desperate,we keep a jar of instant hidden in Igor's underpants hamper.
And then there's me,toiling away to keep things on an even keel. Please be nice to me and clearly state your new nsd total each time you post one.
Thank you all. And Happy New Year to us all, yay!!!!! :j:j:j0 -

Oh,last thing:my way of knowing where I am in the thread is that if I've thanked your post,it means that I've copied down your new total.I've maybe not updated it on the front page yet,but I've made a note of it.0
