    Try reinstalling Internet explorer or updating it. Just a hunch..
    Sound possibly like a network or browser fault.

    Do you have a firewall installed? if so turn it off for a while and see if the fault goes away, then turn it back on and see if it returns.

    Are you on Broadband?

    Do you use a router?

    Is you connection ethernet or wireless?

    I did a search for NetBT and found this:
    WinSock XP Fix offers a last resort if your Internet connectivity has been corrupted due to invalid or removed registry entries. It can often cure the problem of lost connections after the removal of Adware components or improper uninstall of firewall applications or other tools that modify the XP network and Winsock settings. If you encounter connection problems after removing network related software, Adware or after registry clean-up; and all other ways fail, then give WinSock XP Fix a try. It can create a registry backup of your current settings, so it is fairly safe to use. We actually tested it on a test machine that was having a Winsock problem due to some Adware removal, and after running the utility and rebooting, the connectivity was restored.

    WinSock XP Fix 1.2

    It seems to be related to web access but have a read and see if you think it relates to you, I can't see it doing any harm running the program but stop and think about it before you do.

    Noticed a couple of posts I hadnt seen before.

    Brotbrat - the link didnt work (on this piece of X anyway) got an error message

    Someone mentioned heat and taking it apart - I have just repleaced the PSU.

    Other one went pop when I turned it back on after holidays.

    Seriously starting to think its hardware based though - it has started to reboot intermittantly. - Processor or MB maybe??:confused:

    BritBrat sugested this program: http://www.spychecker.com/program/winsockxpfix.html hopefully this link will work for you. If it doesn't, try this one: http://www.spychecker.com/download/download_winsockxpfix.html it works, I know I've just tried it ;)

    Your error 4307 seems to relate to this listing: http://www.microsoft.com/technet/solutionaccelerators/cits/mo/winsrvmg/winspog/winspog3.mspx or to make it easier to read

    "Initialization failed because the transport refused to open initial addresses.
    To correct this problem
    1. In the Show Bindings For list box, click WINS Client(TCP/IP).

    2.Select the WINS binding shown, and then click Enable.

    3.Click OK twice. If enabling the bindings does not correct the problem, remove the TCP/IP protocol completely, and then reinstall it."

    Or there's this:

    How to reset Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) in Windows XP
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/299357

    If you've got a WindowsXP disk you could do the following:

    Put in the windows XP CD and navigate to the support >Tools folder.
    Double click setup and select full install.
    Click Start >run >cmd {enter}
    Type netdiag /test:winsock /v {enter}

    To reset the winsock registry entries

    Click Start >Run >regedit {enter}
    Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Winsock and delete it
    Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Winsock2 and delete it
    Exit Regedit and reboot.

    To install TCP/IP over itself (to do this you need a copy of nettcpip.inf there IS one on the Windows XP CD and MAY be one on your hard drive)

    Right click "My Network Places" select Properties.
    Right click the connection and select Properties.
    Click Install >Protocol >add >have disk
    Browse to the location of nettcpip.inf
    Select TCP/IP click OK
    Reboot

    HTH
    It could have been worse. At least source code's not combustible, or you can bet somebody at McAfee would have lit it.
