get a garage to check it...they can test for gases in the water easily and cheaply

Hi scheming_gypsy i dont know if you have a regular mechanic but have herd about this website on radio, its www.goodgaragescheme.co.uk just a thought if you in any doubt about your local. Hope you get sorted. Dont forget to post back results after they look at it.If i could i would, but i cannot so i wont, but maybe one day i will.0

Just been to the garage: left the engine running while he had a look and couldn't see anything leaking.. no steam or anything.
Took the cap off the water and no steam or anything so he said the pressure is fine, adding all that and the lack of other signs about a head gasket he was pretty sure it wasnt that.
Then he sat in with his foot on the accelerator for a few minutes. Steam started coming up from the radiator so he's narrowed it down to that.
Going in on Monday to have it replaced at around £450 cheaper than a head gasket..0 -

aye, luckily i can still drive it if i'm careful so can get to interviews if i get any
