Said in jest I'm sure, but seasonal RTC bargains are not what they once were, thanks to increasingly sophisticated sales prediction tools. Hence there just weren't the volume of leftover chocolate eggs last year (2016 I mean).

Eta: I just stopped by at a one of the largest Sainsburys. Valentines goods are on clear display :o

It does not matter how many Easter Eggs are delivered by the supermarkets and other shops that sell them - Wilko etc, on Easter Saturday, you bet the cheap ones have sold out leaving the expensive ones left. I work in a shop where we sell EEs and we bring in more each year and still sell out of the cheap ones. The RTC lines I can recall were Cadburys Egg n Spoon, Lindt Bunny - 200g one and A Lindt line with 5 or 6 chocolate hollow farm animals.

Its the same people that ALWAYS leave it to the last minute of everything - Halloween (pumpkins) end Nov (Advent calendars), Shrove Tuesday (pancake mix, eggs, flour and sauces), early Sept (when kids go back to school) etc

I think the offer might last longer than the eggs as people (ahem..) were buying trolley loads yesterday and the girl told me they aren't getting any more until the end of the week except for (I think) the wispa egg. Odd!

Even if I'm on the shopping threads, it doesn't mean I'm buying! Sometimes it's good to just look and then hit the CLOSE button!
