TiredMum (((HUGS))) Run free across Rainbow Bridge, Ziggy. x
Coxy that must've been unbearable for your poor sis; and for the rest of the family.
Lainey I hope your DM is as pain-free as possible.
We're enjoying Sasha's company; it's her first time here, and she's settled in brilliantly. She's only here til Saturday, but she's made such a difference - I actually feel like there's a reason to get up in the mornings! If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
Hello, just a quick post as I've been out and about most of the day and must go and clang pans in the kitchen,.
I am sending special thoughts to those who need a bit of support and solidarity. NA, I'm so sorry about your do, LaineyT I'm sorry to see that your mum is in such pain. Coxy, your family really us going through a lot of pain and LWW , you too have been having such a difficult time.I was jumping to conclusions and one of them jumped back0 -
Evening all.
My da has been on the quiet side. I did my DM's shopping and medicine collection and then toddled off into town for a wee while. CATERINA - I think it was you who mentioned the Virgin Money lounges? Huge thanks, it is an oasis of peace, quiet and respite. I just went to register myself, have a coffee, a read of the paper and went straight back to Mum's house. So, free bus trip there and back with free coffee once there. Can't be more MSE than that!
The rest of the day has been spent reading and watching another Midsomer Murder. It's such watchable trash. DM has gone back to bed rattling with antibiotics, paracetamol and beta blockers. I'm trying to keep my distance whilst doing her every whim.
Thoughts to all. Especially Lainey and her DM and for Coxy and her family.
Lamewolf - you sound so happy. :j0 -
Glad you found it helpful, Gers! xFinally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).0

Sorry this is a rant.....
We travelled in to the hospital. DB's appointment was 3.35 pm, it was 4.30 before he was seen and then not by the consultant!! It was his registrar who proceeded to go through his notes asking questions, No apology for keeping us waiting an hour. I got annoyed, all the things she was asking were in the notes, no need for her to take them again. Eventually DB said this is a follow up appointment from Dr L. seeing me in August. I explained that his dizziness had been put down to vertigo for which he was taking medication. She then proceeded to examine him, all the procedures that they went through at the balance clinic last week. I pointed this out to her. 'Oh I did not realise he had been seen in the balance clinic'. He has exercises to do 3 times a day, also has an appointment to see the physio, We assumed that Dr L was going to sign him off again, it was just a follow up appointment!! She gave in and signed him off! What a waste of hers and our time let alone the cost of fuel and the cost to the health service......and we had to drive home in the dark which I hate.
Rant over.
I am truely grateful for the treatment we get from the NHS, todays effort was a waste of time and resourses which could have meant that possibly two or three patients who really needed the appointments could have been seen.0 -
Hi chums ,still at DDs and will maybe pop home for a night tomorrow, as I want to get my house warmed up before I go back in the New year I only live 10 minutes from DDs so its not a problem.
Today we went looking at a couple of rescue centres for another dog for DD.her little Jack Russell, Lexi does get lonely on her own and with the boys and DD and her OH back to work next week they are worried about her.I go there every afternoon after lunch 4 days a week so its not too bad but the famly are so used to having two dogs.
Well we found a dear little West Highland terrier who is a year old and had been abandoned by his owner by the roadside .Apparently in a bad way when rescued, and the vet has worked wonders with him.
They are hoping to let him come to his new home with DD and the family within a month as his coat had been so bad that they had to shave the back half of him and the rescue centre won't release him until his coat is fully restored. He is a cheery little fellow and the boys have decided to call him Ted ,he hadn't even got a name when he was picked up and needed a bit of medication for a few weeks as well. Lexi seems to have taken to him as we took her along to see how they got on.The rescue folk think he is around a year old and he is quite puppyish still, and so happy to be made a fuss of. So fingers crossed all will be well and he will have a forever home with the family.
So much sadness on the news, and on the forum at the moment. I will have to have a good chat to The Big Guy tonight when I go to bed
Hope you get better soon Caterina, and to all those struggling at the moment I do wish you well. Coxy I shall be thinking of you tomorrow my dear your poor sister must be in bits bless her
Love and Light to all who need it

Just popping back on to let everyone know that Mum was admitted to the hospice early this afternoon, they have fitted a syringe driver so that the painkiller etc can be administered easier and she seems much more comfortable if very tired.
Home now for something to eat and to get some sleep but will be back first thing in the morning, it's a lovely place with facilities for family to stay over should it become necessary.
Thank you for all your kind and thoughtful well wishes x0 -

Thinking of you LainyT. I lost my dad 6 weeks ago to cancer, the care he received in the Macmillan unit was second to none it was a real relief to know he was comfortable and pain free his last few days. Your mum is in a good place and will get all the care she needs.0
