Oh Lainey - my heart goes out to you and your DM and family. I truly hope this end part of her life is pain free. My beloved Dad had a great doctor in the hospice who made sure his last days were 'easy' for him and less distressing for the family. I wish you the same.

My poorly DM perked up just now when I told her that a large removal van was outside so her new neighbour must have been moving in. I said I'd go out and move our cars when I was dressed. She said 'no, don't otherwise I can't watch properly' :rotfl::rotfl: Whilst I was in the shower she'd got out of bed to look and was so disappointed that the van had gone, the move must have finished. She's now back in bed. :rotfl:
  • Lainey please try to talk to the Macmillan ladies they are amazing and so helpful not just to the patient but to the family as well.I hope you can sort out your Mums pain relief asap.

NRA I feel for you as you are really being put upon especially as you are concerned for your own Dad and step mum.Start putting your foot down firmly Bev, time to kick a$$ honey

So many sad and poorly folk around at the moment, but we are all here to help support you, even if its only so you can have a rant or two:) sometimes you feel like you want to stand in the middle of a field and just yell at life, well we have all had those moments believe me.

Soon it will be a New Year, and this year will pass into memory, so I am a great look-aheader

Hope life treats us all a bit better in the coming weeks and months

    Love to you all

Lainey - Accept all the help you can at this really difficult time, I'm sure the hospice staff will steer you.
What a bad day LWW, hope the car is sorted soon.
Thanks for the top tune tru, made me smile! Remember - PRINTERS SMELL FEAR, that's why I never look at mine.
Gers - Hope your DM feels better soon, had to laugh at her wanting to watch the neighbours move in, I would be the same!

I've been busy this morning, stripped 2 beds, one lot in the TD and the other just finished. Such a backlog of laundry when the visitors leave. I've put 2 doorstops in the kitchen, don't want the handles marking the walls. Also put up 4 hooks on the backs of doors. I'm on a roll so will look for other odd jobs to be done.

Had a walk to a friends yesterday afternoon, I really needed to stretch my legs and she lives a couple of miles away, had a refreshment or 2 and played with her GS - he's 4 and bonkers - made me laugh a lot.

Not much planned today, will see what happens. Enjoy your day, take care. XX
  • Morning ((((((((((hugs)))))))))) if you need one.

Another very frosty morning, glad our hospital appointment is not till this afternoon, especially after that dreadful crash yesterday.

I need to go through the freezers and tidy them out as I do the freezer audit. I plan to go shopping next week for very basic essentials. I want to put a decent amount in a cash ISA which we can draw on of the need arises. I could be out of action for several weeks at some point in the year.

We have started setting the alarm again during the week, when it goes off I have an extra 15 minutes in the warm before I get up; not that the house is cold, but you know what I mean, I am always loathe to get out of a warm bed.

We still have the summer duvet on, there is a quilt on the bed too which we have been pulling up whilst it has been so cold.

Nothing planned except for OH's visit to see the Dr at the hospital.

LWW - sorry to hear you had such a dreadful time. Keep well.
TA - hope all goes well for your DH
Lainey - I hope that you can find the support you need for your mum. It's very hard to take when your loved ones are suffering.
Tired mum - sorry about your dog. They are such a part of the family, it's hard to lose them x
NRA - feel free to vent all you like, we are hear to listen and offer support. Hope you have a better day today x

Went for lunch yesterday with DSis and family. All was going well until the police phoned to say they need a statement from her for the inquest and also that they want to drop off nephews personal effects (including the letter) next week. Spent a good while holding her whilst she wept uncontrollably- it's just terrible. Funeral tomorrow, so I need to sort out what we are all wearing (bright colours) and get myself organised. Thank you for all the good wishes, love and support over the past few weeks - you are all so lovely xxx

    Good morning,

Sorry to read about so much pain, LWW what a dreadful day you had, and Lainey's mum suffering so much and Coxy's poor, poor DSis I got tears in my eyes reading about her crying.

These things certainly put a bit of flu abroad in perspective.

The sun is shining out there, with a bit of wind. Not that it matters to me because I am so bunged up and weak that I am not going anywhere today, although no fever (please God that it may stay this way). I would rather this blasted bug explodes right now and then on 31st no matter how weak I can leave! DH is much better, for which I am immensely grateful.

Just been watching Ethel and Ernest on catch up and for a blissful hour and a half I was back in my dear London, even with all the sad bits I felt joyful and rejuvenated, but then reality hits again, still stuck here far from home.

No matter how my mother is caring for us, and she really is, it's not home. I am really grateful for my mother's hard work and care but there is always that patina of distance between us, the misunderstandings, the mutual irritation. She must be fed up to the hilt to have this camp hospital in her home, even if of course she does not say, I am sure it's part of her irritability. Not long now hopefully, only 2 more sleeps before the crossing.

I will never again moan about home, that's for sure!

Hope you all have a reasonably good day.
Finally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).

    Morning all,

Nice bright day here but very cold I have a wash on the go and will hang a few bits out I don't suppose they will dry but will smell nice.

I have a gammon in the sc which we will have tonight with egg and chips and maybe some salad.

I need to start getting up earlier in preparation for work next week, I have been getting later and later, both in going to bed and getting up and while its lovely I cant do that at work next week :D

OH is out with the dog and the go pro :D. Lame wolf she was not sure at first but after a few minutes she forgets its there, only trouble is she is so slim that it gradually slips sideways :rotfl:

LWW how dreadful that they left you on the roadside for that long !

Lainey I hope something can be done to ease your dear mums pain xx

Coxy hugs to you all xx

    NRA hugs to you x

    Have good days all xx

So sorry to hear that many here have been fighting uphill battles and such sadness. Sending hugs and positivity to all who want them. Love and light to you (candles lit and longer days to come). For anyone in a dark place - keep going sweetheart - yes, it is so hard - but you can do it.

Be kind to yourselves and take care xx
