I have for many years run windows live mail for e-mails, which is a programme I am happy with, recently I purchased a tablet and wish to receive e-mails on this. The question is how? Do I need to down load this programme from google playstore (if is is at all on there) or something else.
I know the majority of people have internet e mail accounts which they can access from anywhere but this seems to be different.
So I would be grateful if anybody can shed some light on this for me.

Who provides your email account? It sounds like you have Windows Mail running on your PC and are downloading your mail to your PC. This will be using either POP3 - which usually deletes stuff from the server - or IMAP4 which allows you to syncronise local and server folders across multiple devices.
Check your Windows Mail account settings for POP or IMAP settings or see your email provider's website. Then set up your tablet email client.

don't know why microsoft keeps messing with its email clients hotmail, windows live, outlook etc etc.
as you don't know how much longer microsoft will support live mail it maybe a good time to slowly migrate to a more stable system like gmail as you already have an android device. gmail also works well on windows
also good excuse for getting rid of a lot of junk by setting up a new email account"The Holy Writ of Gloucester Rugby Club demands: first, that the forwards shall win the ball; second, that the forwards shall keep the ball; and third, the backs shall buy the beer." - Doug Ibbotson0 -
I use the Blue Mail app on both my android phone and tablet in order to access my Microsoft Outlook email account and it works very well. It will work just as well for your Live Mail account.
It's very easy to setup and gets a very good user rating on the Play store.0 -
We have the K9 e mail app on our phones & tablets.
