Does anyone have any method to establish the real return of an HL portfolio, and a few basic analytics?
I have tried my best and I can't find any such information on the website. I appreciate that it might be there and I just didn't find it, but I am beginning to doubt it.
I was looking for something like the return per security: something that takes into consideration the buy price, any/all purchase commissions, all other costs (such as fees or the more hidden corporate actions) and all the returns (capital gains and yield), preferably historically as well so one could compare the performance. I can't even find a way to extract the full cost or the return (CG + yield). Has anyone figured out a way of extracting this information from the website, or put together a spreadsheet or web crawler, or anything to calculate these?

Thanks

P.S. yes, I know that I am a plonker if these are available on the website and I didn't find them, and that I am a plonker for having invested in their accounts if they aren't, there's no need to point that out :)

Why don't you just write your own - any simple spreadsheet can do this and far more flexible than someone else's creation.

Write it yourself, you'll understand the results and it will do what you want.

I don't think it's that easy, as I can't see how one could get all the necessary data. The exports don't include all the mentioned charges, and there is no consistent way to link dividends to holdings

In that case no one can do it, problem solved. fj

You should consider unitizing your portfolio, read more about it here: http://monevator.com/how-to-unitize-your-portfolio/
