Sun holidays butlins upgrades?

I'm looking at using the sun £9.50 holidays for the first time when they start with the tokens in the new year. I would ideally want to upgrade quite a lot, I.e. To gold or possibly higher as this will be our first holiday since I had my two children (one will be almost two years old and the other will be just turned one year old!). How far can you actually upgrade in Minehead on half board? I've read of people upgrading from standard to silver but no higher so I'm a bit unsure if its possible to go higher than that. Anyone have any experience with this? Thanks!

Hi,through the Sun promotion you can only upgrade to Silver.
You could upgrade to Half Board also.
If you wish to upgrade higher you would need to go to Guest Services once you get to Minehead.
They would let you know if further upgrades are still available and the cost.
This would be the normal upgrade cost though,not a newspaper promotion price.
As both children will be under 2 also phone and have the charge for entertainment passes for the children taken off.
You would need to check but I'm sure they're still free for age 2 and under.

hi ive read lots about cancelling the entertainment passes as you can still use the facilities without is this true ( going skegness butlins) thanks

I was at Butlins Bognor last November
They issued coloured wristbands to show who was entitled to use the facilities and who wasn't.
Security checked everyone on entering the Main Arena and Reds.

I went to Bognor week before xmas and we were given wristbands too, first time i've seen them in 2 trips to Bognor and 2 to Skeggy over the last 4 years. They were never checked, though we didn't go to Reds, weren't checked for swimming or the main show venue though. Bit risky to cancel though i should think, now they're doing wristbands

If people are going to use the facilities then they should pay for the privilege.

You're getting a cheap holiday. Be happy with that.

I would check the advertised price first, we had a sun hol once we booked and got a 2 bed van, and at the last min my parents decided to go with us, in a separate van, and the price they paid for their booking and ended up with a nicer 3 bed van for less than we'd paid on the sun holiday booking by the time we'd added all the extras such as entertainment passes onto the basic advertised £9.50 cost.
