I'm in exactly the same situation - we've just moved in, have an inefficient boiler, a prepayment meter and are PLOUGHING through gas (central heating/gas hob/gas fire/old rotten windows). We've got an installatiom booked to change the meter over later in the month.

We'll also be replacing the windows, possibly the boiler and installing a stove over the next 12 months so hopefully we are moving towards a warmer house and smaller bills.
