Peppa- my word that's quick! , No time to be pouring over Pinterest woman- pack pack pack! (Im jealous really I would love a blank canvas to get my hands on ). Hope its all going smoothly x (Diet is still out the window- hows yours going?).
0462.. - Im good thanks, just been a little under the weather with a vertigo attack followed by a cba attack. Hope you are OK now?
Vulpix- a hangover?! Really? Im shocked- how do you get time to have a booze up when you are always so busy gardening or painting or playing in the orchestra?!( Seriously though glad you managed to have a good time and let your hair down x).
Chrissy- my DD is 21 in July and it honestly scares me to think that time has gone by so quickly! One minute ago she was a tiny bundle of dribble and this week she has submitted her dissertation and has her Finals!
I cant help with the gene testing issue Im afraid. (Two months is a long waiting period.)
Trendyjenny- huge Congratulations! Do you have a date set or is it early days yet? Exciting times ahead for you both.
Kerri- (I think it was you that asked about DD's birthday party), did your DD have a good time? Has she any tips for a Greta Gatsby theme? I have decorations sort of sorted but am struggling with food ideas (apart from the obvious of Gin!). Any ideas would be welcome. (if it wasn't you Kerri the Im sorry).
Mrs I- is this the neighbour who looks after your plants while you are away?
Free- get well soon x.lovin' this site!

Trendyjenny - Congratulations! Enjoy planning it. :T
Well I finally rang about my 24hr ECG results. It had been over 5 weeks. Receptionist read it out to me and we were both non the wiser. :rotfl:So had a phone conversation about it with a doctor today. The results were ok apart from the frequent instances of high heart rate. Which is why I was having the test...Anyhoo, need to book a face to face appointment to discuss whether I need to come off the medication I'm on that they think is causing it. Don't really want to come off it though...
In other news. I'm looking at birthday presents for my nieces. Looking at STEM toys for the soon to be 3 year old (she's an evil genius). The Brio wooden builder sets look pretty cool.
Hope everyone feeling under the weather feel better soon xx“In 900 years of time and space, I’ve never met anyone who wasn’t important”

Murie It was a friend of mine who went to the Gatsby party (no kids here) - I asked her about the food...it was pizza :rotfl: I'm relatively sure that isn't of the period.
there's a couple of links I found that could be adapted (unless you fancy grilling oysters?)

also;- Stuffed mushrooms
- Crudites with dips
- Salmon Mousse on sliced bread
- Roasted nuts
I guess buffets haven't changed all that much since the 20's then
Not much Christmas planning here, but some clearing out and spring cleaning. Have just unpack a few things that have never been out of boxes since I took them from DM's (things from when I lived there) as we've always rented until now and it's never seemed worthwhile, now it's sunk in that we're not moving anytime soon so I CAN unpack things in our houseFeb 2015 NSD Challenge 8/12JAN NSD 11/16

Just saying Hi as it's a bit quiet here at the moment.
I am off to a car boot sale shortly with my friend.
Murie,I must confess I have neither read the book or seen the film of the Great Gatsby but I looked it up and it's set in 1925 so I imagine the food I would do would be of the afternoon tea, dainty finger food variety.Cucumber sandwiches and the like. Will the guests be in costume? It sounds a lovely theme. All I did for my DD's 21st was wrap 21 individual presents and I suppose we must have had a family meal.TBH I can't remember as I was still having cancer treatment at the time and it's all a bit of a fog.
Clumsy, well you are non the wiser! Perhaps seeing the consultant will make it all a bit clearer for you,Good luck.
Jenny are you going to delight us all by having a Christmas wedding? Pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeease.
Peppa are you buried under a mountain of boxes?Exciting times.

Popping to say hi. Nice to see everyone is doing ok. Lots of house moves. Good luck with those. Ive moved 6 times in the last 10 years, so don't envy the packing. But do love unpacking and finding homes for everything.
Something kind of Christmassy happened last week. It was my youngests 6th birthday on the 1st of May. I had gotten an elf on the shelf birthday tradition book in Home bargains for £2.99. It came with a nice book and a cupcake dress up outfit. None of our elves were elf in the shelf ones. But we did have a baby elf last year. So I got a cheap elf from China in January. So this was him grown up a bit. He came and stayed for 24 hours to celebrate her birthday. She was so happy to have the elf in the middle of the year. He had decorated her chair with balloons and tinsel for the day.
Ive been enjoying the sunny weather. Relaxing in the garden and planting some shrubs and clematis to try and create a bit of privacy between me and the noisy neighbour. I have already put a bamboo screen on the fence, but need more cover. It won't mask sound, but I know he turns his music up louder if he knows I'm out and he knows it's annoying me. Wee prat!!
But I needed to do somehting to make me feel better. As soon it's sunny my anxiety levels go through the roof. I can't enjoy my garden as he brings his amp onto their decking and blasts it. But also his friends are all over and they are swearing and drinking. Ive had words but he just laughs at me. I do send the kids out at silly time in the morning to scream on the trampoline to wake him up.:santa2::xmastree::santa2:0 -
noisy and inconsiderate neighbours must be the pits. l am told that unwanted noise is the biggest stressor there is, and l can well believe it. l hope that this summer is better for you.
l am sitting here waiting to skype the grandnibs, and looking out onto the back garden. l planted a clematis montana 2 years ago, as l needed a thug to cover the fence, it has not let me down, a mass of pink flowers and bronze leaves. The squirrels were out before, they always make me smile, (like rainbows do, too)and a lone blackbird fledgeling, no parent or siblings in sight, perhaps the magpies got the rest and scared the parents off.
l have been hardening the bedding plants off this past 2 weeks, and now l think they should be tough enough to survive outdoors overnight, provided the winds stay away. l counted up and find l have 107 trays each holding between 40 and 24 plants, and 24 trays holding 6-15 plant pots, and l said that this year l wasn't going to do so many, but....
plenty to give away.
Nothing Christmas here at chez invis, except that there will be fave cous' new grandnib here to buy for, yummmmy, baby.
Nic, l love the birthday theme for your DD, very Christmassy, and what a great idea to have the elf 'growing up' too.
No, Murie, no bike yet, but lovely neighbour has given me a trike and a scooter for DGN.0
