Afternoon everyone (anyone????) its very quiet on here over 24 hours since a post :D i havent been on as have had nothing interesting to say. Well the rat situation has gone off spectactularly, DD1 has been away on business the last few days so it has just been DS and i at home, i got up tuesday morning to let the dog out and DS shouted mum stay there! Wondered what the hell was going on, he just happened to walk through the LR and the dog was standing over something.................a dead rat :eek: so DS got rid of it. I was in a right state it must have got down from the loft into the bathroom??? Anyway we thought hooray we finally have the one in the loft..................no it wasnt that one we have heard noises since, so we have bought the big guns now and have a trap that electrocutes it!!! We shall see.......and that is my boring news for now, hope everyone is ok.

Ooh FREE it doesn't bear thinking about. We had an offer but the people haven't sold their property yet. No viewings since Friday so feeling fed up although my sister keeps saying it's still early in the year and a lot of people don't think about moving til spring. I've stopped living like someone's going to call in any minute though so it's a lot less stressful lol. If we get a viewing booked it won't take long to get it all looking its best.

DH asked me today how I'd feel about renewing our vows as it's our 20th anniversary in June and it's been a difficult year with the cancer and chemo. I think I'd like it but so much of what people do is frankly stomach churning - I like romance but not schmaltz, so we'd have to tread a fine line. Also, where would we do it and who would we invite? Would it be fun or would it be hassle? Maybe I've just subjected him to too many episodes of 'Say Yes to the Dress' :D

free Hope you manage to zap him! We have rats, over by our chickens think we are never going to be rid of them. We've had something leaving us "presents" lately in the form of rabbits, no heads though so I'm thinking foxes... Chickens are gross and try and eat them bleh!

Peppapig why not make it more a party than a renewal? might keep it from being too mushy lol

I STILL have nothing interesting to report... I've been spending my days trying to finish a papercut for a friends baby as I'm meeting her sat, it's very animals of farthing wood, they declared long ago that she would not be girly as he is a bit nerdy and she is quite the tom boy. I struggled with what to do for so long then I remembered his mum had made little clay mice in walnut shells for the baby shower so mouse expanded to include squirrels, a badger and a fox, thinking some birds and maybe a rabbit I want to get in there too
this is it so far *fingers crossed I manage to insert a piccy... not done one in a while!* First I've ever done in this sort of style, I normally avoid colour lol

Oh no wait I thought of actual... sorta news... I have green hair! Been brunette since the nightmare trying to get it back to that for a friends wedding last summer so very exciting to have pretty colours again :) and I'm off to London next weekend for worky stuff half the motivation to dye my hair pretty, it was purple blue and green for last years I set the bar high... haha

I hope you know your capable, & brave, & significant.

Peppa invite meeeeeeeeeeeee.:rotfl:I know what you mean about keeping the house like a show house, gets difficult. It is early days as your sister says.I think the next couple of months will see the market move a little.

Free i think your dog deserves a treat.Well done him,put him in the loft!:DI think with those type of visitors they are never alone.

I am just about calmed down after almost a week camping out at the hospital.I can cope with my Mum,my SIL whilst she means well, winds me up.She is so rude and confrontational. It makes me feel ill.

My lessons with my Polish woman are going well, she is lovely.I could do with some more like her.Trouble is where I live foreign people are like hens teeth.

sorry I have read but havent retained anything.Hope i have not missed anything important.

    Vx

What talented people you all are. The pic is lovely. Renewing your vows is a lovely idea, Peppa, The best bit is that it was your DHs suggestion, must give you a warm huggy feeling to know he wants to do that. (Most men l know get grumpy and defensive if they are asked/required to do something 'soft' in public!!)
Free, well caught, that dog! hope you get the rest of them too.
Not much going on, nothing Christmassy done, but who said declutter for lent, what an inspiration, l may just have to join you!
Todays excitement is school run/ DD to physio, Have lunch out with her, buy onions and milk, school run sleep! what a thrilling life l lead.

PIXTOTTS the paper cut is lovely and I'm loving the image of your coloured hair. Many years ago (the 1970s which feels very recent to me but probably like the dark ages to you) when I was at school I remember one art room had pictures of girls with feather cut hair (ask an older relative lol) one highlighted or dyed in pink/red and one in blue. They were amazing and I've never forgotten them.

VULPIX sorry you have such a rotten week, hope things are improving now. Glad to hear the lessons are going well, you must be very patient. I will add you to the invite list :D

MRSINVISIBLE I must say I was surprised. Apparently he's been thinking about it for a few months and I had no idea!

Raining and miserable here this morning but going over to see the DGSs this afternoon so looking forward to that. Hope everyone has a good day.

Free- not the best start to the day but well done to the largest ratter in town! Hopefully the rest will be gone soon once the new 'system' gets to work.

Peppa- glad you are more relaxed about selling, it will happen its early days yet. Once the sun starts shining people will start to think about house moves. A blessing is a great idea- just map out what you want from the day and tailor your plans to that rather than what other people would like. Its special for you and DH. We did it for our 25th and it was hard work (we ended up with about 60 guests) but a great day. We had it at home and it was a squeeze but with overspill into the garden etc we coped. You have a big garden so why not look at one of those large marquees. Tesco have one at the moment https://www.tesco.com/direct/outsunny-gazebo-party-tent-outdoor-green-6m-x-3m/605-4283.prd (they do it in white too but no reviews on that)

It doesn't need to be fantastic as its just for one day and its cheaper than hiring a venue. We bought loads of bottles of wine etc from Tesco when they had offers on over the course of a few months (they always have offers of some sort or another on). Food can be made in advance and frozen. Rope DDs in as you aren't keen on cooking, or ask each guest to bring a dish/bottle if they would be up for that (you know them best and it seems quite a popular thing to do nowadays )
It would be fun and a day to remember that you both deserve given what you have been through lately x

Pixitotts- thats lovely! You are very talented.

Vulpix- glad your mom is out. Is she any better now she is at home? Just ignore your DSIL and don't let her get to you. Glad your lessons are going well . You and I can gate crash Peppa's blessing and 'get the party started!' (Don't panic Peppa Im only joking!)

Mrs I- Im sharing the same high octane lifestyle as you, off to Moms to pass the screws/tools/coffee to DH while he fits an outside socket for her.
    lovin' this site!
