Argos suspicious pricing

On 21.12.2016 I searched every argos store in the UK for a Go pro hero 4 silver 309/4408 at the price of £229.99. Unfortunately no store had stock.
This changed at 1am on the 22.12.2016 when every store had stock of said model at the new price of £249.99.:(

Which most probably means they will be on "Sale" on Boxing day for £219.99.0 -
Supply and demand. Pick a big name product and look at Amazon's price fluctuations on camelcamelcamel. If it's a Christmas present then perhaps you should have researched and purchased earlier. If it's for you then wait a couple of days for the sales.0

Are shops not entitled to raise and lower their prices? AS for your consumer rights you have the right not to buy one from them if the price isn't what you want to pay!
According to their website it was previously on sale for £229.99. Other retailers seem to sell it for around £247+ unless you want to risk it with an online only retailer based in Hong Kong, so it's not exactly a bad deal at the current price.0 -

So you complained that they were out-of-stock on the 21st but somehow managed to become re-stocked overnight?
You've never seen the articulated lorries delivering stock to Argos shops after closing time? The company have night workers busily filling shelves every night over the Xmas period. Obviously, by 1am on 22nd the stores had replenished.
Unfortunately (for you) this coincided with a price increase.
Argos might well honour the original price to resolve your "complaint", but they are under no legal obligation to do so and any such action would be a goodwill gesture.SuspiciousLilElvis wrote:Supply and demand. Well that's what they tell us they complain about.
I genuinely hope that at least half of the scenarios I read online are fantasy. The thought that people actually do this sort of thing is too much to bear.0 -
At least you'll be talk of the staff room for a few days.0
